Lockheed Martin to buy Sikorsky Aircraft

For those who don't know, Sikorsky Aircraft is the US military's largest helicopter supplier. The $8 billion deal will be closely monitored by the US government in an effort to avoid market distortions and maintain competition.

Does this mean that Sikorsky will be absorbed by Lockheed Martin and the Sikorsky name will be no more, or will it still be it's own company but just under the control of Lockheed?

Honestly, Sikorsky Aircraft has been on the ropes for years. I remember when they laid all of those employees back in 2011. The company that bought them, UTC, basically ran them into the ground. Hopefully, this will be better for them overall, and they can get back to profitability.
