RAWALPINDI - A Formation Commanders' conference on Wednesday reiterated the armed forces resolve to defeat enemy’s designs, and defend the territorial integrity of Pakistan at any cost.

The conference was held here at the General Head Quarters (GHQ), which was presided over by Army Chief General Raheel Sharif and attended by Corps Commanders, Principal Staff Officers and all Formation Commanders.

It took serious notice of the recent Indian hostile rhetoric coupled with covert and overt actions to destabilise Pakistan. It was termed “highly regrettable” that Indian politicians not only indulged in actions which were in violation of the United Nations’ Charter, but also took pride in claiming their interference in the internal affairs of other states.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the forum was given comprehensive briefings on security environment and professional issues. In his address, General Sharif, while recounting the successes of the security forces in operation Zarb-e-Azb, paid rich tributes to the soldiers for phenomenal successes in the operation and sacrifices they had rendered for the defence of the motherland.

“Terrorists have been cleared and dislodged from their strongholds in North Waziristan and Khyber Agency, and the fight is now moving into last few pockets close to Afghan border,” he said. Laying emphasis on continuation of counterterrorism operations till elimination of the last expected and probable terrorists groups and sanctuaries, the army chief exhorted commanders to take all measures to prevent escape of trapped terrorists.

“With entire nation standing behind us, we will remain focused on achieving the objective of a terror-free and peaceful Pakistan,” he said. Underscoring Pakistan’s multiple and complicated challenges, General Sharif expressed his optimism, saying: “Pakistani nation is the most resilient nation in the world, and is already on its way to emerge victorious out of these testing times. Our collective aim is to make Pakistan a secure, strong and prosperous country."

uh...pakistan vs india again.>>_*

India has a huge army while Pakistan is more advanced in nuclear tech. Both should remain calm and let go.

India and Pakistan should be glad they have peace and some political stability. And if they aren't then they should learn something from the conflicts in the Middle East and North Africa. Should a war be ignited for any reason, valid or not, neither of them will know peace for decades.

Pakistan should exercise restraint because they stand to lose more should they decide to declare war on India.

While they [Pakistanis] are busy fighting India, terrorists would flood in from Afghanistan and driving them out of the country would be impossible.

I find it surprising how a nation like Pakistan got its hands on nuclear weapons. India is far more developed and yet still India is lagging behind Pakistan in this regard. It is full time that these two nations make peace and go about developing their country and making Asia a stronger continent.
