Thanks for sharing. It's always amazing to be reminded that even a basic infantry soldier is a walking armory. The amount of research and technology that goes into the weapons, armor, and tools for the common soldier is astounding.
It's really ambitious but I don't think it will happen anytime soon, maybe in about 30 years, by the time they come out with the first prototype it will be about 30 years, and by the time it goes into full production it will be another 10 years, and the thing about this is, it will only be offered to elites forces like the Navy Seals, by the time you see something like this in action, 40, 50 years would have gone by.
I know that the pictures, movies even ideas about an advanced exoskeleton or just an advanced combat suit are just products of our imagination right now, but I think this is important too. We are able to think about how a super-soldier would look like and with a little bit of patience maybe we will see some kind of advanced soldier in maybe 10-15 years. Just keep in mind that IT is the domain with the fastest technological evolution.
It is, but with automated warfare we might end up sending only drones and remove the humanity from the war. That will make war even more bad and will be treated as something not so dangerous (because it won't cost lives).

Humanity will always be innovative and smart when it comes to figuring out ways to kill each other. It has always been this way and it will always be this way... somehow the smartest and brightest often end up working in military projects at one point or another.
