I, for one, have always found the development of large scale weaponry to be fascinating. It started with research into the Star Wars program in the 80's. Since then, a whole lot if interesting arms have come into development. Here are some on the ones I know about:

You are missing a lot. The use of the nuclear weapons is not an option these days. So you may wanna exclude that from you list given.

To talk about weapons and their effectiveness you will need to categorize them first.

1-Missiles>Surface to Surface>Air to Surface> Surface to Air> Air to Air missiles> Cruise and Antiships missiles> Torpedos...etc.
2-Air to Surface bombs
3-Artilleries and Guns
4-Anti tank missiles
5-MANPADS

And the list goes on and one.
