Crash occurs in northeastern Pakistan during routine training mission
KARACHI, Pakistan
A Pakistan Air Force jet crashed in northeastern Punjab province on Friday during a training mission, an official statement said.
"A Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Mirage aircraft, on a routine operational training mission, crashed near Shorkot [in Punjab province] today [Friday]. The pilot ejected safely and no loss of life or property has been reported on the ground," the PAF said in a statement.
There was no immediate cause cited for the crash.
A board of inquiry was ordered by the air headquarters to determine the cause of the accident, said the statement.
