Those contracts have expired.Pentagon delegation most likely will
Discuss Pakistan's Defence needs and look at our wish list etc. I expect to hear some positive news in terms of release of some equipment through CSF resolution.
They are not here to discuss coordination of border management or building a wall. Infact USA has been playing a double game by keeping the issue of Durand line alive in Afghanistan.
For those hoping to resolve the issue of T129 engines will also be disappointed. USA has zero incentive to let Pakistan buy those helicopters especially since they want to punish Turkey. They may offer more choppers to us and force us to spend 1.5 billion dollars with them instead.
Too many unknowns. By the way I am just curious if we still have the congressional approval for 18 F16 C/D that we did not buy in 2006, and Eight we refused to buy in 2015?
If they have an approval then we can still buy 26 aircrafts from them......
Provided ofcourse if we have money available .
However, getting Congress to sit by a sale isn't an issue, rather, it's the use of FMF/CSF. So, the current administration has to sell Congress on the latter, not so much selling F-16s to Pakistan. In 2004/2005, the PAF had scoped 55 Block-52+, so if it's now moving ahead with F-16s again, it may request 36 Block-72. That's a $4.5 billion US deal.
