And that’s why Pakistan wants old aircrafts and upgrade all ASAP to make waiting room for newer arrivals :

All these numbers are deliberately fudged. To hide, actual price, kickbacks, political cost, support cost, logistic cost, training cost.

This contract price from DoD to Lockheed shows a per unit price of US$70m. With the multiyear, multi unit buy, this per unit price should come down.

Bulgarian ‘Vipers’ contracted Lockheed Martin has been awarded a US$512m contract to deliver eight F-16V Block 70 jets to Bulgaria. The Foreign Military Sales contract, announced on April 2, is part of a procurement and support package expected to be worth around US$1.3bn.

Busy with work but in the above F16 report Bulgaria is replacing Mig29. There is nothing Mig29 offers which we cannot match with JF17 plus JF 17 is way more reliable and cheaper to buy and operate.
I have read a few publications where mig29 and JF17 are placed together as competitors in the same category and JF17 was praised as a cheaper and more advanced in terms of avionics.

Mig 35 is an improvement but still with two engines it will cost more and Russians always exaggerate their capabilities ....

I won’t buy Russian no matter what they promise....

We are not the Egyptian AF that will induct 20 different platforms simultaneously :p

Russians are notorious for providing spare parts or maintenance. And this will be a totally alien aircraft except the Rd-33 engine.
Solid point of view, but my point that

Thunder block 3, already late still just one test of prototype

New F16 seem more the decade away for inductions

Project may take dacade and half to fly prototype (if lucky)

Then what we going to do till ten, fly shadi wally video drones?

The best scenario remains that we upgrade our existing fleet to Block 70 standard... it will be a rather quick job possible within a year or two. Turks can help us do the job quickly. I know for sure Pakistan is very hesitant to send their F16s to the US because of the fear of embargo.
But the million dollar question is why would Americans in deep economic trouble and bad relationship with Turks will allow any such modifications to take place there ....

that means we must send planes to the USA and that it self is a scary thought....
