Peasant attempts self-immolation during Sindh sugar cane growers' protest
Mohammad Hussain Khan
December 28, 2017

A peasant on Thursday set himself on fire during a farmers' protest in Mirpurkhas calling for the implementation of the official rate of sugar cane by mill owners of Sindh.
Majeed Qambrani, the peasant, suffered 30 to 40 per cent burn injuries and was shifted to civil hospital for treatment.

A farmers’ leader, Javed Junejo, told Dawn that Qambrani attempted self-immolation during the protest sit-in at Mirpurkhas toll plaza which Junejo and others were leading.

He said Qambrani owned four acres of land where he cultivated sugar cane and that although the farmer had harvested his cane, mills were not procuring the crop from growers.

A hari (peasant) shares expenses and profit of any crop with the grower in Sindh.

The Sindh government had earlier this month notified a sugarcane price of Rs182 per 40 kilograms for 2017-18. However, the mills are not ready to pay the official price to producers on the grounds that it is not viable for them.

nothing surprising considering it was Sindh province, where dual national politicians deliberately circumvent the public so that they may never out grow their master (saein).

There should be a ban on dual citizens holding office, or being MNA /MP / Senators.

Indeed, but that's how it is at the moment. Neither any one in parliament is going to accept any such proposal any time in foreseeable future.
You know the case of captured Indian terror mastermind Kulbhoshan Yadev, one of the thing he stated in his confession is that, he became victim of being over confident... after working years on missions in Pakistan, he started to believe Pakistan is a state with loose control, unless he was arrested by the army.
Basic message is parliament is as much responsible for demise of Pakistan as any hostile foreign agency.
You perhaps, also remember the case of Hussein Haqqani issuing visa to those, who were banned in Pakistan.
Imagine state appointing an ambassador who is OPENLY working against the state and he lives despite everyone in Pakistan knows of this fact!
Now imagine how many people are appointed /promoted by the civilian govts. circumventing the merit and rules!
