The gangrene of the people was how the Pope described corruption that is prevalent in poor countries all over the world. The 78-year old head of the Roman Catholic church that is based in the Vatican City also expressed his opinion against ideologies that usually ends in dictatorship.

All Popes are hypocrites. The Roman Catholic church is the most corrupt institution in the world. Much as it is the Pope's right to speak out against all "evils," corruption being one of them evils, why don't they set a good example and clean up their church first? Actions speak louder after all.

As for corruption in poor countries — I don't think opinions of religious leaders will change anything. Civic education in schools, that could be the solution.
