Russian Defense Ministry intends to extend main battle tank T-72's service life
The Russian Defense Ministry has suggested extending the T-72 tank’s service life by another 15 years, Deputy CEO of armor manufacturer Uralvagonzavod Vyacheslav Khalitov said on Wednesday.

I thought Russia had the T-90 now. So what's going to happen with the T-72? Will it be used in a sort of second line role backing up the T-90's or will it be used alongside the T-90's?

The fact that the Armata tank is now on the scene also makes things a little confusing.
