Dr. Bilal Siddiqui Joins DSU
Dr. Bilal Siddiqui has joined the Mechanical Engineering Department as Assistant Professor. He specializes in the field of Mechanical Engineering, with his Ph.D. from KFUPM in Control Systems in the Systems Engineering Department and Masters in Aerospace Engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM), Saudi Arabia.
He has extensive corporate exposure. He has worked in SUPARCO, the National Space Agency of Pakistan, as an Aerodynamics and Flight Control Systems Designer, where he was engaged in wind tunnel testing and conceptual design of aerospace vehicles. He has a tremendous entrepreneurship experience of having
co-founded Saudi Aerospace Technologies LLC, the first privately owned aerospace design venture in the Gulf region, as well as a solar-energy start up, Solara. His current research interests include distributed estimation and control, nonlinear model predictive control, input-to-state stability, robotics, aerospace and underwater vehicle design and control, as well as a keen interest in technology entrepreneurship. He also provides consultancy to various private and public aerospace companies internationally.
