Source? Where they using Saudi airspace prior? If so, it seems this follows Bahraini warning recently. I expect more moves of this like over the coming months.

This move is already expected of Saudi Arabia because of its bickerings with Iran as an after effect of that execution of a celebrated Iranian cleric. It seems to me that Saudi Arabia is very confident of its military might. We are just glad that the wounding of a Saudi cleric in the Philippines didn't cause much uproar. I thought it would cause a rift between Saudi Arabia and the Philippines.

This decision has nothing to do with the existing Iran and KSA dispute. It's due to the violation of safety rules committed by the Iranian company ( Iranian Mahan). In this regard, the General Authority of Civil Aviation is obliged to take the appropriate decision that ensures the safety of passengers and the other flights over KSA's air space. Good decision, so next time our Iranians friends should abide by the safety laws if they wanted to fly over the KSA.:)

RIYADH – The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) has ordered the cancelation of permits formerly granted to Iranian aviation company Mahan Air.

In a statement to Saudi Press Agency, GACA announced it has also banned permanently the Iranian airline’s flights to land at the Kingdom’s airports or fly over its airspace because of a number of violations.

GACA monitored a number of violations committed by the Iranian Mahan company against the national regulations and relevant laws breaching the safety of international aircraft operators in the Kingdom. The decision has been taken out of GACA’s keenness to ensure the safety of passengers and protect their lives,” the statement said adding that the decision is based on article 163 of the Saudi Civil Aviation Law related to taking penal action against companies that commit violations.

It seems as natural move from Saudi Arabia after those smaller misunderstandings they had and really they do not seem to be on the same page and it also seems that mixing politics and religion is a trend now days. It is probable that Saudi Arabia is more powerful than Iran military speaking of course, well, actually in every segment but still this quarrellers will not benefit either side. Or maybe it will it just doesn't look like that right now.

Thanks for your good wishes. Indeed, this is a terrorist attack carried out by a terrorist organisation and Philippine has no involvement in this, so we don't blame you, bro. You did a well job and the security forces responded very fast to impose peace.

We have a solid relations with Philippine and Philippines are good people. Such irresponsible terrorist attacks won't harm our relations.:)

If ever there was a hot spot in the world today, then the Middle East would definitely be that place. There is no shortage of conflict in that area. In fact, this type of situation has existed in that part of the world for ages, Most of the conflicts seemed to have resulted from intolerance amongst the various ethnic groups. Many people are wary that the volatile nature of the state affairs in that region may probably be the catalyst for another world war.

How Mahan Air is not safe but can easily travel to Europe? Also Mahan Air’s website does not show any scheduled flights to Saudi Arabia.

Over the tensions between KSA and Iran everything should be taken in account. Mahan air is a private co belongs to the IRGC. These people have stormed KSA's embassy and didn't respect the international agreements. So, everything related to Iran can't be trusted anymore and any issue with safety or country laws is more than enough to prevent this company from flying over KSA. The situation is different here, Europe has no political issues with Iran, but KSA is. :)

Hey all! Here's another link in case you're interested in what's happening with Mahan Air: http://dunyanews.tv/en/World/330848-Saudi-Arabia-bans-Irans-Mahan-Air-over-safety

So from I understand, Mahan Air never operated any flight to Saudi Arabia. The Saudis are banning Iranian planes from accessing their airspace, including commercial flights, even if the plane is just passing through en route to another destination. Currently, Mahan Air does not operate flights to Saudi Arabia or Africa, so it is largely unaffected.

However, I do see some future potential problems, as Saudi Arabia's strategic positioning on the Arabian Peninsula may present challenges for Iranian commercial airplanes that want to operate routes to Egypt, the Middle East and North Africa.

In the grand scheme, this seems like a footnote. However, it just feeds into the disdain and lack of trust between Saudi Arabia and Iran.

I think its more of political move and has nothing to do with safety.

Well at first Mahan air is a private company and is not belongs to the IRGC. And is wrong any damage to the embassy. However Iran officially condemned the attacks and reaffirmed its commitment to relevant international law.

But what was the reason led to attack on Saudi embassy in iran?

The year 2015 was a tragic year for Iranian pilgrims. In April, reports of the Rape of two young Iranian men in the Jeddah airport in Saudi Arabia. the Iranian Foreign Ministry had confirmed the news that the assault took place. On 11 September 2015, a crane crash killed over 100 people, eight of them Iranian, including a top scientist. In addition On 24 September 2015 the killing of almost 460 Iranian pilgrims in the 2015 Mecca stampede. Saudi officials did not even apologize for the incident.

Four months before the attack on the Saudi Embassy in Iran Saudi warplanes attack iranian embassy in the Yemen capital, injuring some staff and which injured a number of embassy guards and damaged its building.

In addition to the Saudis support to Saddam Hussein during the Iran-Iraq war as well as the massacre of 400 Iranian Hajj pilgrims by Saudi security forces in 1987 .

Saudi Arabia's support for extremist groups in the Middle East and particularly in Syria, and its attacking Yemen as well as sentencing Sheikh Nimr to death are escalating sectarianism in the Middle East. Such actions are against the Charter of the United Nations and indeed a menace to international and regional peace and security.

The owner [as written in web pages] is Mol-Al-Movahedin Charity Institute, but let's see some facts about this company and how it's very close to the IRGC :) :

  • Mahan Air had transferred tons of weapons to the Houthi terrorists organization in Yemen :

  • During the operation decisive storm in Yemen, Mahan Air has tried to transfer some weapons to the Houthis, but fortunately RSAF eagles were there for greeting :

And I'm still wondering why the IRGC is always prefer using Mahan Air in all his terrorist missions ? and why a private co would put its future at risk through participating in terrorist missions and transferring arms ?§§•

No wrong touched the embassy ? ok pic speaks better :):

What do we need from Iran apology, while the Iranian security forces didn't do anything to prevent people from attacking the embassy?

BTW Iranians have burnt, destroyed and entered the embassy, so where the hell are the security forces during all that time ? or security forces can't stop some civilians from burning and destroying an EMBASSY ?

BTW, it's not first time, Iran has a shameful history with embassies *-^:

- 1979 attack on the US Embassy.
- 2011 attack on the British Embassy.

In April, reports of the Rape of two young Iranian men in the Jeddah airport in Saudi Arabia. the Iranian Foreign Ministry had confirmed the news that the assault took place
Unlike the Iranians we do apply the law against anyone, these 2 security men were brought to justice and got the appropriate punishment. They will sit 4 years prison and 1000 lashes for each of them.

On 11 September 2015, a crane crash killed over 100 people, eight of them Iranian, including a top scientist
That was an accident.

In addition On 24 September 2015 the killing of almost 460 Iranian pilgrims in the 2015 Mecca stampede. Saudi officials did not even apologize for the incident.
Well, it's the problem of Iranians not the problem of Saudis, since thousands of people have to walk in one place at the same time. Everyone is responsible for himself and of what he is doing. Pushing and driving people robustly like you're fighting is more than enough to kill thousands of people. And simply that's what Iranians done. Just to embarrass the Saudi government and find their way to achieve other agenda.

It's not the first nor the last attack, Iran has a bad history with the holy places. A simple story :

Coalition spokesman Ahmed Asiri have denied this before. The coalition said no operations had been conducted near the embassy. Iranians are crying over the massive losses they're reciving in Yemen.%-}

In addition to the Saudis support to Saddam Hussein during the Iran-Iraq war as well as the massacre of 400 Iranian Hajj pilgrims by Saudi security forces in 1987 .
Yeah KSA had supported Saddam, and KSA will continue supporting its allies anywhere. Iranian regime is spreading terrorism in the region and we just trying to project our interests, nothing else. The 1987 was actually a terrorist attack not a massacre of the Iranians. :)

What everyone knows is that people are coming to perform Hajj and visit the Holy places, but the situation here is very different. Unlike the rest of pilgrims, Iranians are coming to make protests, break the law and practice politics ! curious right ?

Anyway, this pics can show some of the Iranian barbarism and why did the security forces haven't any choice except using the force to impose the peace and save the rest of pilgrims :

Everyone is supporting extremism and extremists, not only Saudi Arabia. Just to be fair. :)

Including Germany, which supports the Jews with money and arms just to kill the defenseless civilians in Palestine and occupy their lands. So, please do not speak much about peace and international laws as no body abide by these laws, but only the weak states.

Yemen is the backyard of KSA, what affects Yemen security will have a great impact on the KSA, too. In this regard, KSA won't hesitate to protect its national security. Although it's not an attack, but KSA is helping the legitimate government of Yemen, which previously asked KSA and other Arabs for the help to bring back the peace and kick out the Iranian-backed terrorists out of Yemen.:)

However, Nimr is a Saudi citizen and is a terrorist, at first. What goes on the Saudi citizens must go on Nimr. He's still not angel though. So, I think this matter is only restricted to the Saudis, no 2nd party at all and everybody must understand this.

At first In addition Mahan Air, Iran Air and Yas Air travel services to the IRGC. IRGC officers stationed in Iraq and Syria, helping to train local troops and Government of Iraq and Syria and fighting against ISIS like Russian forces . Also the presence of Iranian forces to the request of the legal government of Iraq and Syria.

On what basis you says was the weapon in the aircraft because he disobeyed landing in Saudi Arabia?
Since when help to people Iraq and Syria and fighting with ISIS is terrorist mission?

Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel said Friday that Iran and Russia were helping Iraq battle a Sunni extremist insurgency but that the U.S. was not coordinating its own assistance with either country.

We are aware of the Iranian and Russian efforts to help the Iraqis, but we are not involved in coordinating any missions, Hagel said. Hagel’s comments came after reports quoted Iraqi military officials saying that Iran and Russia were conducting airstrikes in their country, hitting Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) targets.

Iran’s security forces had cordoned off the area around the embassy. but protesters threw stones and Molotov cocktails at the building. Police eventually resorted to tear gas to scatter the protesters and managed to cordon it off again. Also the Iranian authorities have express regret over the attacks and arrested at least 40 individuals in connection to the attack.

Saudi government in charge of maintaining order in this huge ritual are responsible for the incident .
Saudi Arabia should admit its mistakes in handling the Hajj ceremony and take serious measures to correct the way it administers the ceremony.

Coalition spokesman Ahmed Asiri have denied this before. The coalition said no operations had been conducted near the embassy. Iranians are crying over the massive losses they're reciving in Yemen.%-}

I think attack to protests and killing them is barbarism. unlike KSA, in many countries police respected the right of individuals and groups to protest.

Yemen is the backyard of KSA, what affects Yemen security will have a great impact on the KSA, too. In this regard, KSA won't hesitate to protect its national security. Nimr had been the most vocal critic of Saudi Arabia’s ruling family prior to mass protests that erupted in 2011. He called for regular demonstrations against the ruling elite. Shiites have long complained that they are victims of discrimination in the Sunni powerhouse. Nimr had often called for better protection for the country’s Shiite minority.

Human rights activists saw al-Nimr not as an insurgent but as a dissenter and were appalled at the sentence. Amnesty International said the case against him was part of a systematic effort by the majority Sunni government to crush Shia voices.
