RIYADH, Saudi Arabia — A suicide bomber killed at least 21 people during midday prayers on Friday at a Shiite mosque in eastern Saudi Arabia, local news media reported, one of the first potential signs that the country’s intervention in the sectarian conflict in Yemen is escalating tensions at home as well.

Members of the Shiite minority, who make up about 15 percent of the population and live mainly in the oil-rich Eastern Province, have long complained of discrimination by Saudi Arabia’s Sunni majority and clerical establishment.

During Saudi Arabia’s two-month air campaign against the Houthi movement in Yemen, which practices a form of Shiite Islam and receives backing from Saudi Arabia’s regional rival, Iran, imams at Sunni mosques across the country have rallied the public around the war, in part by repeatedly denouncing Shiites as dangerous infidels.
The Saudi Arabian news media has portrayed the Houthis as proxies of Shiite-led Iran and characterized the Yemen campaign as a vital defense against an Iranian incursion.

i swear to god the US government and iran will pay for their dirty games and we will bring them down to their knees one way or another. now iran then the US government.

1st our war against houthi is not a sectarian one. why ? well simply see the amount of shia scholars who are supporting this war against iran and its rats.

2nd the "zeidi" which is a form of shia sect but closer to sunni are all with us. and the denounced the houthis long time ago.

3rd a well known houthi scholar. who is actually the cousin of the houthi leader was among the first to ask the government and ppl of yemen to take actions against them.

the US is the main reason for the rise of houthi iran and ISIS.
we ruined all US plans in the region for the past 14 years. we did it quietly and smartly.
i said this from day one. the US dosnt want to see the coalition in this war win. and now they are doing whatever they can do to stop the war and find a political solution to save their loses.

as for the attack on the shia mousque all saudis are united. iran sponsored ISIS. they both have only attacked saudi. they both have only talked about saudi while they are suppose to be enemies!
iran war in iraq is not against ISIS but against sunni ppl. they killed all sunni in the name of the war against ISIS.

imams at Sunni mosques across the country have rallied the public around the war, in part by repeatedly denouncing Shiites as dangerous infidels.
this is a fucked up lie. yes we have our differences with shia. and we talk about it publicly and we wont stop. but in the case of the yemeni war its not sunni against shia. its arabs against iran and its rats. and its a first time that all arabs and muslims including sunna and shia unite. and this is not good for iran US and israel.
the western media specially the fucked up american media keeps insisting that its a sunni shia war cuz thats what they want.
fucking rats

Iran is behind the attack. They have a dirty history of doing this among Shia-Sunni for the purpose of kicking the clash of sectarianism in the region. They have done it in Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, Pakistan, Afghanistan and lately Yemen and Saudi Arabia. The Saudi society is so different that no one can break the bond among its people or encouraging sectarianism. The government itself cracks on any attempt verbal was it or act that involves in any form or shape in disturbing peace in the society. After the attack the Saudis were all socked and stood all together side by side regardless of ideological differences against the hideous act. Both Iran and the US shall pay for what they have done sooner than later. This is the era of the new generation where all foreign policies have gone through many changes after King Salman took the throne. We will have to wait for the investigation to be done and then we will see what reaction should the kingdom take in order to counter and punches whoever thinks about doing such thing inside our society.

Reminiscent of the 9/11 tragedy, this suicide bombers are the pain in the neck of the peace process. How can the world have peace when suddenly there would be killings perpetrated by those extremists? And killing in the name of their God makes them a hero? That's silly.
