The point of negotiations

Negotiations are also a way to find out more information about the other side, what their weaknesses are and what they are willing to concede. Some enter negotiations as a means to see what they are up against with no intent of actually going through with the negotiations thus making them impossible to achieve and to stall things.

The point of negotiations is to offer effective alternative solutions to the problems that we are facing, to avoid war and to make compromises. This is a peaceful way to settle disputes. Moreover, it manifests humility that neither of the side believes that they are superior and that warring with each other is so serious that whoever wins will bear significant loss that wouldn't be easily regained, especially the lives and the history. Never in history that the stain of blood is admired. What is admired is one that's effective without violence. We are striving for the people's lives. We are not striving just for our own, that even if we are at war with the other, we are still fighting for what we believe the better situation for all of us, not just for the people of our side.

I don't think negotiations are very effective, seeing as each party involved in the negotiation will have their interests above all else and will therefore manipulate the other parties involved. It's difficult to make everyone happy if there are limited resources, as is the case with many negotiations.

Negotiations can only work if both parties have the same goals. Terrorists are brainwashed to only focus on destruction. They are also intelligent and know how to hit where it hurts the most. Most of them have nothing to lose and therefore they are very dangerous. It is a sad thing that it will take more than an arm and a leg to one day live in peace with every man.
