That's what I was thinking, it seems odd to go backwards. Perhaps this is less costly than other methods? It's pretty incredible that between the two crafts, they can monitor an area the size of Texas, since that's a huge swath of land. I guess they stay up there like the ISS, and monitor the area, although at least these are unmanned, so we don't have to concern ourselves with getting crew members to and from the devices.So we're going back to heavier than air craft?
It's almost like aerial warfare is almost turning full circle. I mean we started out with balloons and Zeppelins, and we're now going back to them.
