It has been long enough since the negotiation started with Iran in regard to its nuclear program however, an agreement has yet to be reached.

Do you think a military action against Iran would solve the issue? In my opinion, Iran is playing around to buy time and not being serious about reaching any deal regarding its nuclear program.

They are under no obligation to accept other countries' terms regarding their own nuclear program and the US going to war with them would be a huge problem, because their territory is much more difficult than Iraq was and they also have something like 10 million reservist soldiers.
Resorting to air missions only wouldn't really help much either as they've probably spread their nuclear equipment among many hidden and well protected locations by now.

The US failed in Iraq as well. But here is the time of alliance or simply accept the GCC, Egypt and Turkey as the new emerging nuclear power. Iran is a signatory to the NPT treaty just so you know. It agreed to that and must not violate or else all options are to be taken. We should also start with Israel.

Leaving the treaty
Article X allows a state to leave the treaty if "extraordinary events, related to the subject matter of this Treaty, have jeopardized the supreme interests of its country", giving three months' (ninety days') notice. The state is required to give reasons for leaving the NPT in this notice.

This strategy did not work too well in Iraq and Afghanistan. Now that the region has been destablized the problem seems to be spreading into other areas like Syria.

America is a large country, but it does not have an infinite amount of resources. These small conflicts are bleeding America dry.

Well the fact on ground is that with the way Iran is aggressively increasing their military might in the past few months it certainly gives a sign for concern. I hope the UN takes drastic measures against this as fast as possible.

Exactly, opening up another front in the Middle East would be pure lunacy, specially now when Daesh is conquering lands left and right in that area. I'd be surprised if they didn't go after Saudi Arabia in the near future. What the Middle EAst needs now is as much stability as possible not more war.

No, I don't think its time to attack Iran. I think that the world needs to use peaceful means to resolve its conflicts rather than always resorting to force. Right now Iran is fighting against Isis but that could easily change if someone were to attack them. They would be more willing to put aside their differences with Isis and focus on a common enemy.

@Scorpion, it's really too soon in America's history to start another war, even if it isn't in Afghanistan or Iraq, and especially if it's in Iran. First of all, look at the conflict Iran is locked into right now. The latest news on this is that some Iranian commander is saying that they're looking to attack Israel. The situation is volatile and the only response in this case would be based off of what? That we support Israel? That Iran is a terrorist state? Let's not forget that, what we call freedom fighters one minute have become terrorists the next. Diplomacy is much better than brute force. Why should we attack? Cause we're sick of it? Who are we to wage war? Then it comes down to national exceptionalism, which hardened nationalists only believe in. Those are the only people who want war because they're the ones who decide they're the solution to all of the world's problems.

I don't doubt that the people in Iran are sick of the Ayatollah. Let's not forget the Iranian revolution. There's been more than one and it's still there. Those guys have Western lives. But they know the oppression. Of course, it's just like any other oppressive government out there. We should wage war on Egypt, China, North Korea, Cuba, Sudan, Russia, The Philippines, etc. And do what? Turn then into our vision of democracy? Or are we just pointing at Iran because they pose a nuclear threat?

Question I'd like to ask is, why hasn't anyone attacked North Korea? Have they been making nuclear weapons? But all we see are sanctions. Nothing more. IMO there shouldn't be any one nation or few nations "policing" the world like they own it. While nuclear weapons terrify people fact is it's because of them that we haven't seen global wars for a really long time. Embrace the WMDs, embrace peace . . .

. . . and let Iran be.

President Obama is right about stuff like closing down Guantanamo Bay, when he says that it gives fundamentalists a reason to bolster more support for their cause. But then again, it doesn't matter what anyone does, they'll do it anyway. The fire's already burning, why throw fuel on it?

The media likes to bottleneck the idea that Sunni and Shiite are against each other, or at least likes to give opinionated pundits who aren't careful, the room to talk it up. But there's truth in some of that, which has to be dealt with before anything else happens.

That's another thing @Redheart . I don't think anyone really knows that North Korea has. I also don't know that we can trust intelligence with their information. We're all very much in the dark about all of this stuff and it's to the point where I'm cynical about all of it.

Earlier today I was reading some report (I mentioned it earlier) about how Iran is talking about attacking Israel. But I'm seeing more spin out there and I want to do my own research from whatever reports are coming out of that area specifically. That's gonna take me more time and unfortunately I don't have it. I might need to become a specialist in one region and then stick to it.

The UN hasn't accomplished anything lately other than to be a mouthpiece for the United States. Also, they're probably in agreement with President Obama's pragmatic approach which makes the aggressors in congress stand out.

The reason I say this is because Iran nuclear ambition poses a big concern to us. Iran nuclear reactors/facilities are about 100 mile from the eastern shore, less than 60 mile in case of the UAE. We in the Gulf states depend on desalinations to get our drinking water. What if something happen to those facilities and radiations spell all over. Earthquakes happen in Iran in a frequent basis as well. Until now the 5+1 have failed to deal with this issue. Also Iran is not allowing the AIEA an access to its nuclear facilities and that raises a big question mark.

You have a point there but this did not just start recently it has been like this for decades and turning things around would not be an easy fit.
