The UAE cabinet on Sunday endorsed hosting the headquarters for a proposed joint police force of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states in its capital Abu Dhabi, the state-run news agency (WAM) reported.

UAE Vice President Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al-Maktoum, who is also prime minister and ruler of Dubai, said a joint GCC coordination has become a necessity.

Sheikh Mohammed also said that the “UAE has become a model in safety and peace regionally and internationally,” adding: “Hosting the GCC police force reflects such a confidence in its attractive and encouraging environment.

“We are fully confident hosting the headquarters will boost efforts towards Gulf integration, prevalence of law, maintain safety and security to our nations.”

WAM said the GCC police force will work to coordinate efforts across the region, share knowledge and information among other relevant security bodies.

Regional security threats have pushed Arab countries to mull further cooperation.

President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi pushed for the creation of the force after Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) militants executed a group of Egyptian Coptic Christians in Libya in February, prompting retaliatory air strikes from Egypt.

Its for the establishment of the Headquarter that will be in Abu Dhabi. @Bubblegum Crisis can tell us.
yeah but im asking about its role and function. meaning the only way i see it working is by gathering intelligence, coordination and administrative work between GCC countries.
i dont think there will be any kind of armed force

Yes that is basically the objectives of the unified GCC police, its for the purpose of sharing information and so on.

We the people demand total unification of everything politically, militarily and economically.
