Ukrainian national defence group Ukroboronprom has confirmed that national military exports remain suspended while it focuses on the production of materiel for domestic armed forces during the ongoing unrest in the country.
The comments, made by Ukroboronprom first deputy director general Sergei Pinkas in an interview with Ukraine's Channel 5 television service, come after the organisation first confirmed in September 2014 that exports had been suspended. Pinkas' comments were relayed in a statement carried on the website of Ukroboronprom on 3 February.
He added that Ukraine has been negotiating with export customers to extend delivery deadlines during the hiatus and is continuing to seek new export markets.
