A report submitted to the United Nations Security Council by UN observers in the Golan Heights over the past 18 months shows that Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) have been in regular contact with Syrian rebels, including Islamic State (ISIS) militants.

Haaretz noted that there have been several instances detailed in the report that shows close ties between Syrian armed rebels and Israeli army.

According to the UN report, a person wounded on 15 September "was taken by armed members of the opposition across the ceasefire line, where he was transferred to a civilian ambulance escorted by an IDF vehicle."

Moreover, from 9-19 November, the "UNDOF observed at least 10 wounded persons being transferred by armed members of the opposition from the Bravo side across the ceasefire line to IDF."

As per the details released by the Israel's health ministry, so far some 1,000 Syrians have been treated in four Israeli hospitals. Besides the civilians, some are members of the secular Free Syrian Army rebel group.

Israel initially had maintained that it was treating only civilians. However, reports claimed that earlier last month members of Israel's Druze minority protested the hospitalisation of wounded Syrian fighters from the al-Qaeda-linked al-Nusra Front in Israel.

A statement issued by a group of Druze activists accused the Israeli government of supporting radical Sunni factions such as the Islamic State (ISIS).

Replying to a question by i24News on whether Israel has given medical assistance to members of al-Nusra and Daesh (the Arabic acronym for the Islamic State (ISIS), a Israeli military spokesman's office said: "In the past two years the Israel Defence Forces have been engaged in humanitarian, life-saving aid to wounded Syrians, irrespective of their identity."

The UN report also laid out instances where in Israeli army was seen interacting with armed rebels. In one incident, the report claimed that the IDF gave some boxes to the Syrian armed rebels.

If these reports are true then am shocked to say the least. What interests do Israelis have in the conflict? Are they keen to see Ashad regime collapse whom i presume they don't see eye to eye? His government has in the past been accused of aiding terrorists so could this be pay back time?

I reckon the Israel force would be helping these sort of people in supplying guns and safe houses and maybe even backing them up in the financial sense and will be interesting to see what happens. Supporting terrorists is not good as they want personal things and self interest may have some good goals or misguided ones so will not see reason with others. They have been giving medical help and food looks like it and will be surprised what other help have they provided to the rebels and how it will affect them later on.

Israel's interest in the conflict is Assad's gone. Anyone trying to topple him, for that reason is for the moment allied with Israel.

Mull this over: while ISIS has been fighting very close to Israel's borders, not once have they turned their attention towards the Zionist state. Why? Because they are allies? Or maybe the absurd allegations . . .
The Islamic State group is the creation of Israel's Mossad, Iran's deputy foreign minister said
. . . just might be true. Israel had a hand in the creation of ISIS.

I would like to second the motion. What does Israel stand to gain by touching base with Syrian rebels and ISIS members. For what purpose exactly? Didn't they wipe off Gaza? Didn't they harbor a grudge against Palestinians since they don't share the same faith and have been in conflict with them for God knows when? So after almost annihilating a Muslim race, they're going to work hand in hand with Muslim terrorists? I don't really see the logic here.

Well, well how very interesting. I wonder how Assad is taking this news? Although I do think Israel is providing a good deal more than medical attention.
I approve of this because the dictator really must go for the good of Syria. It was also reported that Saudia Arabia is meddling in this war so it seems like it's anyone's game right now.

Assad already knew.

Assad accuses Israel of aiding al-Qaida militants - Xinhua | English.news.cn

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad accused Israel of aiding the al-Qaida-linked rebels in Syria, according to the state news agency SANA.

"They (Israelis) are supporting the rebels in Syria. It's very clear. Because whenever we make advances in some place, they attack in order to undermine the army . . . "It's very clear. That's why some in Syria joke, how can you say that al Qaida doesn't have an air force? They have the Israeli air force," Assad said.
And there's more. The rebels now directly ask Israel for help.

Syrian Rebels Seek Israelis' Help

Israeli officials say Syrian rebels are urging them to launch airstrikes against foreign Hezbollah militants and Iranian Shi'ite fighters backing President Bashar al-Assad's forces along the Jordanian and Israeli borders in southern Syria.
It remains to be seen though whether Israel will betray their allies.
