Uniting With China

Many countries have tried to ally with the USA because they feel that in time of war, our power could protect them. Whenever there is a threat, they cling to the more powerful countries. Some countries are fearful of China. Many of them are forming closer ties to the USA in case China decides to flex its muscles. But if these same countries feel at any point that we could not protect them, would they do a 360 and try and form closer ties with China instead? It would make sense. If you can't beat them, join them.

That is already happening to some degree. The BRIC nations, Brazil, Russia,India and China are attempting to set up a bank to compete with the IMF. Russia and Brazil have long term contracts with China for natural resources, and the deals where signed in local currencies, not US dollars.

Russia is suffering from the lowered oil prices, China is lending them money.

Wars are ultimately over natuaral resources or economics.

Actually getting China as an ally is the smart thing to do for many nations. Two or three decades from now, Asia will take the place of the West as the economic powerhouse [in the global economy]. To protect their interests the Asian nations will build up their military might and make themselves strong enough to neutralize any threat from the West. So quite obviously if you can't get Western nations to stand by you, East would be the right place to get an ally.

This sounds like we as a country could be a setting duck. I'm afraid that our time as a big dog is coming to an end. We really need to up our game. This country in my opinion needs to rethink how we are running things it's in no one's best interest. This needs to change, and pretty fast.
