Significance
  • The US Army has issued a solicitation for the EMD phase of its JAGM programme
  • JAGM would eventually replace the airborne TOW, AGM-114 Hellfire, and AGM-65 Maverick missiles
The US Army on 2 February released a request for proposals (RfP) for the engineering and manufacturing development (EMD) phase of its Joint Air-to-Ground Missile (JAGM) programme.

Frank St John, Lockheed Martin's vice-president for tactical missiles, confirmed on 3 February that the company will respond to the RfP. "We are confident that our proposed JAGM multi-mode weapon system will provide significant performance advantages that will save lives," he said in a statement.
