DEVELOPING: U.S. Navy officials say the aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt is steaming toward the waters off Yemen and will join other American ships prepared to intercept any Iranian vessels carrying weapons to the Houthi rebels fighting in Yemen.

The U.S. Navy has been beefing up its presence in the Gulf of Aden and the southern Arabian Sea amid reports that a convoy of Iranian ships may be headed toward Yemen to arm the Houthis.

The Houthis are battling government-backed fighters in an effort to take control of the country.

There are about nine U.S. ships in the region, including cruisers and destroyers carrying teams that can board and search other vessels.

The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the ship movement on the record.

Where are the Arab ships? Do you think US went in on purpose to try preventing war between KSA/Iran? My guess is they did it on purpose since it would decrease likelyhood of war. If anything happens, US will prevail in the clash. However Iran will strike at Saudi Arabia.

Anyways looks like nuclear talks went down the drain if there is indeed a clash.

The USA would like to be always in the picture. Pocking its nose in the issue will give a bad look to the collation and that what it wants. The US ships are in the international water so do the Iranian ships.

Strange move, recently they confirmed that that it's routine procedure for securing shipping lanes. And not for any Iranian flotillas. I honestly don't know if reports about Iranian ships are true. Iran would never do it. If it did then it will be with US abstaining. But the news has made people claim Saudi asked for this and that US is firing cruise missiles at Yemen. Basically it's helped for propaganda purposes.

@Falcon29 @Legend guys you are missing important points here.
the coalition is playing it right. according to agreements and international law from day one. and they want it to stay that way.
now that there is a UN security resolution you have to understand that its not only us anymore. UN security members have to be there and houthies, ali saleh and iran have to obey the rules. they gave them 10 days now they have 3 days left i guess.
so US and NATO being there is good for us and its implying the UN security decision.
anyways US and NATO have always been there as i said before. now they will force the rules by the UN.
if iran breaks international law then that is great for us. cuz that means its problem now is with all international countries!
so i wish iran makes this mistake cuz it will fuck it up. sanctions will increse then the iranian ppl will get fed up with this and turn against there government.
if iran made a dumb mistake not even china or russia can help them according to international laws.
so this is great for us.
plus we are blocking the yemeni waters not the international waters. the US and NATO are behind us in the international waters before reaching yemeni waters.
we are playing it smart so lets keep it that way. cuz we dont have any hidden agenda anyway.

Iran needs to be careful what it does, as it will not have friends if it helps people who are fighting against humanity and doing war crimes and will have no one to save them from the USA. International seas who owns them can be hard to know as, most countries lay claim and don't have proof that they do and get defensvie when questioned about it and it looks like Iran is close to losing any friends it has if it keeps this up. This politicial game could have bad consequences and also, wander what happens later on and will be interesting to see Iran's next move.
