The Obama administration said Wednesday that it would provide another $75 million in nonlethal aid to Ukraine’s military. It also imposed sanctions against a handful of pro-Russian separatists and others blamed for fomenting the civil war that has torn apart Ukraine’s eastern regions.

The new aid does not include the weapons that Ukraine has sought and that many administration officials and members of both parties in Congress have urged President Obama to provide. Instead, the United States will send more radios, first-aid kits, surveillance drones, countermortar radar systems, and military ambulances. Obama also agreed to send 30 armored Humvees and 300 unarmored Humvees.

There is a lively debate going now in the halls of congress on sending lethal weapons systems. If it is approved remains to be seen. At least some sort of aid package is on it's way though.

A few days ago i watched James Clapper's and Lieutenant General Vincent Stewart's testify at the Senate Armed Services Committee hearing.

About lethal weapons systems what James Clapper basically say is; "We can't send military aid to Ukraine as fast as Russia".

Meaning; Even if US sends some military aid Russia can supply the separatists with much more and more sophisticated weapons systems... but while US debates on this issue. Russia continues to supply more heavy weapons to separatists.

My view of the current situation is; US should stop thinking about theories and supply weapons systems to Ukraine. Doing something will be better than doing nothing.
