Can someone explain why Israel is the only nation which has gotten technology transfer in :

-Drones
-Tank technology
-Avionics
-Ballistic Missiles
-Missile Defense
-Munitions
-Guided missiles

....etc....

Just to name several...if people aren't aware. Israel is not a world superpower to be able to build such weapon systems. It gets all this technology transfer from the United States and then Israel goes and brags about it. Nothing is their indigenous work. And US tech transfer saved them hundreds of billions that would be needed for decades of research.

Can someone explain why such sensitive technology goes to Israel and that absolutely no other ally can get anything near them? Jordan recently asked for survialllence drones to combat ISIS. They even rejected that. Turkey also wants them but were denied. But Israel gets tech transfer for armed drones.

Is Israel really such a 'strategic' ally for us or what's the deal?

It has two sides. One is religious and the other one is strategic.

  • strategic is to keep the Arabs and Muslims busy all the time
  • religious, Christians believe that supporting the jewish is a biblical obligation and thus they should do it.
To end all of this Syria must be freed first.

I've heard it said that Israel is the U.S's literal SHIELD in the Middle East. There's this unsubstantiated paranoia that Muslim nations seek America's downfall. A powerful Israel acts as the first line of defense against the U.S's perceived enemies.

It follows therefore that the SHIELD must be supplied with all it needs to protect the interests of the one who wields it [the U.S].

This was never the case, Arabs/Muslims were one of most reliable allies to the US in the region. Without Muslim support the US couldn't secure its interests in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Yemen, Iraq or anywhere else. And recently with the Asia Pivot US interests are going to become central to Asian region. In the ME they don't gain a lot by being the police in the region nor the babysitter which has to guide its allies. Rather the nations in the ME should work together to use their influence/strategy to make ME a better, more stable place. This takes burden off America.

The idea that Muslims want to conquer America is also foolish, majority of Muslims live thousands of miles away from North American continent. They have no intentions either.

Isreal is doing a lot of America's dirty work for them. Isreal also serves as a testing ground for US weapons, and they US has many military training facilities in Isreal where US troops are trained. USA gives Isreal at the most $6 billion a year in miltary aide, compared to the amount USA has spent in Afghanistan, Iraq and Syria, $6 billion a year is a bargain. Over the last 10+ years, USA has spent trillion fighting, they would be better off to give more money to Isreal.

Ask Obama and the US defense minister to clear up this misunderstanding. Israel has a solid relationship with America for the reason that it's the only non-Muslim country in the Middle East. The US government isn't really Islamophobic but it only has a few allies in the middle east. What better way to cement its presence in the region than to forge a long-term relationship with Israel.

There's another more wilder theory embraced by conspiracy theorists. They believe that the U.S government is controlled by Jews. And if Jews are in control [obviously] the welfare of the kinsmen comes first.

Zionist Occupation Government - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Zionist Occupation Government or Zionist Occupied Government (abbreviated as ZOG) is an antisemitic conspiracy theory that holds that Jews secretly control a given country, while the formal government is a puppet regime.

The expression is used by antisemitic groups such as white supremacists in the United States and Europe, ultra-nationalists such as Pamyat in Russia, and various far-right groups, including some in Poland.

The word "Zionist" in "Zionist Occupation Government" should not be confused with the ideology of Zionism, the movement for support of a Jewish state in the Land of Israel. As the conspiracy theorists chiefly name countries outside that area, the usage of Zionist in this context is misleading, and intended to portray Jews as conspirators who aim to control the world, as in the forged Protocols of the Elders of Zion.

Israel is certainly far from being the only US ally that gets technological help from the US military. FAAAR from the only one. Just because you don't give stuff to Jordan or Turkey, it doesn't mean that the whole world is excluded. That being said take a look at the Royal Jordan Air Force inventory... see anything US made there? In fact, a better question is: do you see anything non-western equipment?

Israel and the USA are very close allies so of course there is technology transfer, which goes both ways. Also Israel is pretty much the ideal testing ground for things such as anti-missile defence, hence it makes sense for both countries to develope these technologies together and test it in action.

Very true. The US could use a stable ally in the Middle East.

I have a feeling we continuously help them because they have at some point helped us out probably financially and that’s why we continuously protect them.

It seems that this is a great shift to the technology. I do not see a problem of sharing the technology with Israel. They are one of our closest allies in the Middle East and they are a great form of defense for us. I hope our current administration starts to realize this and will not mind getting back to supporting Israel, instead of putting them out.
