we should have a world bank that stores money raised from billionaires in each country to spread into nations where there is poverty, starvation and nothing. If the world was responsible for raising funds this way the world would be fine and equal.

Why would billionaires give their money to this bank instead of spending it to make people's lives better in ways that they see fit? How would this bank even decide what project to finance? It would be a useless project I think.

I think you are dreaming. Whether rich or poor, people wouldn't just give their money for the benefit of others. There are philanthropists but they have their own agenda and interests to protect. What the world needs is a vigorous economy to be participated in by big corporations. And the poor countries? They should work for it and not rely on the World Bank distributing money. That is plain silly.

That's an interesting thought but too good to be true. If only all billionaires are as altruistic as we would have liked them to be. Poverty should have been a non-issue by now. If only a single billionaire is thinking the same way as you are, then even his billions wouldn't be enough to address the world's ills. You need at least a quintillion to be able to feed every hungry person in the world.

There is something already called the International Monetary Fund or IMF which is close to what you are talking about on your post, but even though the billionaires contribute funds to it and consolidate it to trillions of dollars, they are working together for other ideals and motivation which is usually not in the interest of the people or solving those problems with world poverty, even though they are given benefits at times to address them or to seem as if their actions contribute to correcting these issues. There are some who legitimately do give back, but many more who only use those things as a front for tax control or popularity in something they wish to do to gain notiriety. Trust me, if they wanted to end world poverty or hunger, the royalty of just a few countries could fix that instantly if they really wanted to, or they found a benefit and reason to do so to help themselves.

This would be ideal, but unfortunately I don't think it would be this simple, politics is a big factor even in Aid money, I can imagine some countries turning down money just because they oppose the donors' beliefs, religion or even just disagree with the way some billionaire acquired his fortune.

I also think that if by some miracle we managed to eradicate poverty and starvation, we would still not be fine, people start wars over the stupidest things.

There are certain times I wish i had a magic wand to eradicate poverty and suffering. The poor keeps getting poorer and the rich keeps getting richer. It is an unfair world where there isn't enough to go round. Rich people do not just rise up and dole money out, you have to work for it like they did to acquire their wealth.
The wealthy nations are comfortable exploiting and benefiting from the third world nations who consider themselves poor.

Socialism doesn't work. And what you're proposing is sort of what happens right now, but it's not Billionaires who contribute but member countries and large investment funds. This is how the world bank and the IMF get their money.
I really hate all this hatred for Billionaires. Some guy earns his wealth and everyone treats him like a villain for it. You can't become a billionaire without adding massive value.
The villains are the large endowment funds and charity organizations that add little value and grow larger without giving back to society. Those Billionaires donate to charity and create jobs. What do the funds do?

Did you know that the Wikipedia Foundation gets $70 million in donations every year, and only spends $2 million that too for servers and a few employees? People like you and me created Wikipedia pages, but we get paid nothing. There are a million inaccurate entries on Wikipedia, which they haven't even bothered to fix. So, what are they adding to society?
Same with the Harvard Endowment fund, which has $70 Billion in it, and keeps growing every year without adding much value. Businesses and Billionaires add value. We should stop harassing them for achieving things that we would ourselves like to achieve.

Although the OP's post is unrealistic, there still exists ways that first world citizens can be charitable to those who are poor. Socialism doesn't work, which I agree with, and there will always be poverty in the world until a vast majority become charitable. Saturating poor countries with money is actually counter-intuitive to the world economy.

I believe that a billionaire has earned the right to keep their money because it is clever and does take work to get there and yes I would love to achieve what they have achieved but it would be nice in theory to have those people that would save other nations instead of buying things that they don't need because they have run out ideas on what to do with their money.

I don't believe in confiscating the Billionaires' hard earned money. However, what I would love to see is a limit to what they may be able to amass, like probably a cap of about 15 billion dollars so that the wealth could be spread around some more. It's Just right that a few people possess almost fifty of the world wealth while billions of people around the world are starving.
