I have a friend (Navy Engineer - Vietnam) who worked in the engine room of the Forrestal aircraft carrier. He tells me stories all the time of when he would go on deck and watch the jets deploy and some of the hazards that he had seen to. If the "catch" does not work right.... the jet keeps going right of the ship and the pilot was considered dead and they did not turn around to try and rescue. He said he seen quite a few of them go down like that. It may look cool, but no thank you, I'd rather keep my feet on the ground. LMAO
