Awesome but I don't believe they are going to participate in the airstrikes at all. The SU-24 is a bit old and might get downed be MANPADs. Nonetheless, I admire the support of Sudan in this time.

Yeah Sudan did a wonderful job, I think the Su-24 will participate.Since the coalition destroyed the air defense systems the threats are low now. Sudanese are experts in gang wars, they won't overlook manpads threats.I think there will be a special tactics will pave the way for the Su-24.>|

As I read, it's already arrived to KSA .;)

Welcome bro, as you know if we will continue this mission using advanced aircrafts (F-15/f-16/typhoon/tornados) and advanced bombs (pavways/JDAM and other types) we will carry massive costs and may force us to stop the whole mission!!

Imagine wasting an expensive bomb on small groups of militias or worthless targets .It will be a war of attrition to us.Our enemy will do many fake targets just to attract our aircrafts and waste our money & effort .

Here is the need of a ground bomber like SU-24.;)

Cheap weapons and it's carry heave load as you can see :

Su-24_armement.jpg

ِAlso,it can carry a heavy cannon will ends Houthis into many small pieces |0| (it can use anti-armor rounds ) :

Some people call it " the flying tank " .. It can also deal with tanks ,armored-vehicles and militias groups .:---~

There are some risks by using this bomber, but at the end it's war not devoid of losses. (*_-)

It's amazing that these areas continuously fight each other over and over again about all these years you would think that the countries would spend money on something that's a little bit more important. All of you pretty much don't have anything as it is so why would you invest all your money on killing each other it's almost as if they're just board simply because there's nothing to do so therefore why not fight

The head of Egypt’s al-Azhar, one of the most prestigious centers of Sunni Islam learning, on Wednesday accused Yemen’s Houthi rebels of tampering with the country’s security and obstructing political solutions to the crisis.

A statement issued by the Muslim Council of Elders, which top Azhar cleric Sheikh Ahmad el-Tayeb heads, said Houthis had staged a “coup against what was left of the state in an attempt to tighten their control over the country.” The statement also voiced fears that the Houthis were plunging the country in a potentially long-term civil war.

The Houthis and their allies seized the capital Sanaa last September and the internationally recognized President Abdrabbu Mansour Hadi fled the country last week.

Sheikh Tayeb spoke on the fifth day of Saudi-led air strikes targeting Houthis and allied forces loyal to former President Ali Abdullah Saleh.

The Saudi-led coalition spokesman, Brig. Gen. Ahmed Asiri, said that operations are continuing in the cities of Dalea and Shabwa in the northern Yemen region of Saada, a Houthi stronghold. Asiri said the Houthi fighters in these areas are operating among civilians.

The strikes have also targeted militants, air defense systems, in addition to ballistic missiles, he added.

Non-military aid to Yemen provided by countries or humanitarian organizations is ‘welcomed’ but needs to be made through “diplomatic channels,” the Saudi-led coalition spokesman said Tuesday.

Brig. Gen. Ahmed Asiri said all relief efforts were welcomed by the Arab coalition fighting the Houthi movement in Yemen, but urged that “such work be presented through diplomatic channels” that comply with the ongoing military operations.

Asiri made the remarks during a daily briefing session in Riyadh on the Saudi-led campaign in Yemen.

Earlier in the day, it was reported that Iran sent a shipment of non-military aid to Yemen, considered the first since Saudi-led coalition air strikes started last week.

During the brief, Asiri said that Yemen’s Najran airport resumed operating after temporarily closing due to a fire. He noted that flights will go as scheduled.

He said that operations are continuing in the cities of Dalea and Shabwa in the northern Yemen region of Saada, a Houthi stronghold. Asiri said the Houthi fighters in these areas are operating among civilians.

The strikes have also targeted militants, air defense systems, in addition to ballistic missiles, he added.

In remarks about a ground military intervention, Asiri said: “So far there is no need for land intervention,” adding the need might arise “at any time.”
