As the Yemen crisis continues, the Shiite Houthi rebels have seized a military base outside the Yemeni capital of Sanaa. This follows a string of takeovers by the rebels of the capital city, as well as other military facilities. The base captured was manned by former Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh, who is suspected of backing the rebels behind the scenes.
