I think it is unlikely that J31/35 is ready for us to try. The Chinese are desperate for new platforms and the likelihood is any new platofrm will be for local use first before being offered to anyone else. For what it is worth I am of the view that J15s will not arrive either. I have said on record I will be very pleased if they do and will apologize to Khafee openly but sorry to say I do not see them coming. For J31 they need 3 to 5 years as they have not even progressed beyond prototype stage and that too if PLAAF/PLANorders enough J35 5o cover their developmental costs.
There is a lot of smokescreens being erected but I am only sure that we will get F16s IF uncle Sam is in the mood.

I have understood the utility of a twin for PAF both in land and Naval warfare but the timing and a lot of things dont make sense to my old brain

As these pilots who have been embedded with PLAF rise through the ranks, the need for a twin heavy fighter becomes more and more acceptable.

Has PAF done any exercises with J-16? Or has it always been J-11. To my ignorant eyes they all look the same
