If we get J 16 and J 10 P and F 16 BLOCK 72 ( 3 squadrons ) than there is no way in hell India won't go for another jet along with tripling the order of Rafale. Now whether that Jet would be from USA or Europe or Russia that is to be seen.

What I know is AESA upgrade is part of upgrade planned for BLOCK I and II. First info I had was that upgrades would begin after all BLOCK III which we want to have will be delivered to Pakistan Air Force but now I have reports which suggest that we may go for upgrades without waiting for all BLOCK III to be delivered

As for answer India in my opinion will eventually go for more than 100 Rafales in total. Also either Grippen or F 18 or MIG 35 will be bought by India eventually.

Given that RD-93MA will take another 2-2.5 years,
I am skeptical of the belief of yours that PAF would right away go for a Major upgrade program of older blocks.

Erieye has lets say 350KM range against fighter radar cross section 3 sqM, ER will make it ( 350 + (350 * 0.70 ) = 595 KM ) so it be able to potentially detect Mig 21 at that range, hypothetically.

Upgradation of BLOCK I and II with AESA was always part of the plan. I am actually surprised that you didn't knew this. Secondly no BLOCK I and BLOCK II engines won't get replaced but would be worked on to improve their performance with Russia's help.
