Is Trump planning for a military intervention! this guy is crazy. Any military intervention will be perceived as an aggression and will unit protesters behind the government. Position of US Carrier Strike groups as of 29th Dec 2017, I don't think it is possible, unless they are planning to replicate the support of the 7th Fleet in 1971, to Pakistan.

NO The diff between 2009 and 2017/18 is day and night following are the differences:
1) 2009 was only in tehran and this time its in 40+ cities.
2) This time they arent demanding reforms but rather a different system.
3) This time around things are really serious on economic wise.
4) People Dont have to lose much as most of them are low wage workers.
