@BATMAN, I don' have a good feeling about this development. If this jet goes into Indian hands, that would create a new kind of headache for PAF, especially when it will be delivered before the Azm matures.
It's not going to make any more impact than Rafael, which has more potent a2a munition. There are neither any hints that India will buy it, but surely Russia would like to sell it to them, and every one else... but it's not today and definitely not next year, and it's premature to comment on any thing beyond.
Where it can checkmate Pakistan, is by capturing light fighter jet market. Earlier jF-17 had no competition in single engine light aircraft arena, which is not the case any more.
AZM development depends on range of factors, but socio economic situation of country will have the most impact, which is deteriorating fast and is a the single biggest enemy of all developments and growth.
