#KurramTangi Multipurpose Dam project coming along at a staggering pace due to relentless efforts by FWO work force. Once online in 2022 the Dam will see 18 MW of power generation and 41Kms of irrigation canals capable of irrigating 16400 acres of land under stage 1.

On completion of stage 2, the total combined capacity of the Dam will be an astounding 83 MW bringing much needed prosperity for the populace of newly merged North #Waziristan District of KPK.

#BRT project to be completed by June 2021: #KP minister

In yet another deadline, #KhyberPakhtunkhwa Transport Minister Shah Muhammad said that Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project will be completed by June 2021.

Addressing the provincial assembly session, Shah Muhammad said that the initial cost of BRT was Rs60 billion, adding that its cost has gone up due to the changes to its design

#KP govt to start construction work on 300 MW #Balakot Hydro Power Project this year

#KhyberPakhtunkhwa government will start construction work on 300MW Balakot Hydro Power Project this year, with assistance of Asian Development BANK #ADB.

The Provincial Energy Development Organization accorded approval to appointment of consultant for initiating practical work on this mega power project at a meeting in Peshawar.

The meeting was told that this gigantic project would be completed within seven years with an estimated cost of 87 billion rupees.

Eighty percent of the total amount will be provided by Asian Development Bank while the provincial government will provide rest of expenditures from its own resources

Prevention of street crime: #Islamabad police will now patrol through #drones

The city police will now patrol with drones instead of vehicles to eradicate street crime. This was stated by the Federal Minister for Science and Technology.

Fawad Chaudhry said in his statement that work has been started on Pakistan's first civil defense R&D, in this regard ten police stations have been designed. We are giving drones to Islamabad police. Vehicles will be removed and patrolled by drones. The use of drones will reduce street crime

FWO is working on widening & improvement of Jaglot Skardu Road project (JSR). Length of road is 160 km. The widened & improved road will play a significant role to bring economic development & social benefits to residents of Skardu on its completion. JSR will be of vital importance in providing access to tourism sites and easy access to health facilities. Despite being landslide prone area, unfriendly weather, and harsh environment, FWO is performing up to the expectations.

Unemployed Overseas Pakistanis Will be Hired As ‘Jungle Workers’

The Ministry of Climate Change is considering a proposal to hire overseas Pakistanis who returned after losing their jobs during the COVID-19 pandemic as ‘jungle workers’.

The record of unemployed people will be obtained from the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and will be used to hire them as jungle workers.

The tree plantation under Prime Minister Imran Khan’s Ten Billion Tree Tsunami project is underway across the country, where thousands of workers are earning their livelihoods despite the pandemic.

These workers perform various duties, including plantation of saplings, setting up nurseries, and protection of tree cover from deforestation and fire incidents
