The joint venture of four oil giants spudded the Kekra-1 well to the depth of 5,470 m at a cost of 14 billion Pakistani rupees
2100m to sea floor. Rest is the depth of the well below sea floor. I doubt it is 5,470m below sea floor.

I stand corrected. You are right.2100m to sea floor. Rest is the depth of the well below sea floor. I doubt it is 5,470m below sea floor.
Did anyone say it was a Pakistani loss?
GoPWho is the ultimate owner of the reservoir?
Sorry I missed that.@Gripen9 seriously na lainaa ghiss raha hn come one dont u like good fiction?? i know yr first love are fighter planes but surely u can imagine and appreciate the beauty and art of submarine vs submarine fight
If we are to wait for any info it will come after the ususal deployment period of the sub 2-3 months ?on station when the familes start to question the govt. unless the news and questions are actively suppressed.I guess PN wont release any info.Since I said no Indian sub was lost and mentioned that there was life loss, I had to add that to clarify that there was no Pakistani loss.
The original report I received was coded and very brief and not very clear. Since then some more clarification, the loss that I mentioned was not related and not in this area was a US marine AAV that sank off the coast of California with 9 lives lost.
There is no clear yes or no to the Indian Navy sub loss, either no such thing happened or PN does not know about it, or it's not cleared for disclosure.
Marine Corps IDs 9 Troops Lost in Tragic AAV Accident.
I can't see any reason for them to wait, they shouldn't know the exact location (if a sub went down) so there would be a mass search effort, with pretty much anyone with the capabilities responding. Can't remember the last sub lost, maybe the Argentine sub? I am sure there are a lot of stories on the net on the response from other nations. If we are to wait for any info it will come after the ususal deployment period of the sub 2-3 months ?on station when the familes start to question the govt. unless the news and questions are actively suppressed.I guess PN wont release any info.
The argentine sub was'nt carrying out offensive ops atleast publicly.Calling it a lost sub is a call for help that is not feasible for a covert op where they have to cover up any loss. Therefore the families of the sailors will be the first to come forward.I can't see any reason for them to wait, they shouldn't know the exact location (if a sub went down) so there would be a mass search effort, with pretty much anyone with the capabilities responding. That's the thing, they are not going to cover anything up, it will come out, and it will be much worse if they didn't do everything they could to try to save those sailors. The argentine sub was'nt carrying out offensive ops atleast publicly.Calling it a lost sub is a call for help that is not feasible for a covert op where they have to cover up any loss. Therefore the families of the sailors will be the first to come forward.
Another thing that will delay the search and release of info is the monsoon. All the disturbed sea really distorts the sonar.Best to use a MAD.That's the thing, they are not going to cover anything up, it will come out, and it will be much worse if they didn't do everything they could to try to save those sailors.
