as expected England war ship HMS Montrose the escort Stena Impero oil tanker ran off and left the oil tanker to its own rather then come to its rescue
It was too far from the SI ship to get there in time.

Iran says it arrested CIA spies and sentenced some to death

Iran says it has arrested 17 spies who it says were working for the CIA, and sentenced some of them to death.

The intelligence ministry said the suspects had been collecting information in the nuclear, military and other sectors.

Iran says the spies who are alleged to work for the US Central Intelligence Agency were arrested over a 12-month period up until March this year.

The 17 were all Iranians working in "sensitive centres" in military and nuclear facilities and the private sector who had acted independently of each other, a top Iranian intelligence official told reporters.

"Sentences for these spies have been issued, some of whom are to be put to death as 'corruptors on earth' [a charge punishable by death under Islamic rules in Iran]," the head of the intelligence ministry's espionage department was quoted as saying by the Iranian Students News Agency (ISNA).

On Sunday, Intelligence Minister Mahmoud Alavi announced a documentary on the arrests of "US-linked spies" would be aired on Iranian TV. Iranian intelligence ministry also released a CD containing a trailer for the documentary, re-enactments of spy meetings and interviews with officials including Mr Alavi.

Some of the spies had fallen into a "visa trap" set up by the CIA for Iranians wanting to travel to the US, Mr Alavi said, adding: "Some were approached when they were applying for a visa, while others had visas from before and were pressured by the CIA in order to renew them." Others had been enticed by offers of money, lucrative jobs and medical services, he said.

Iran's Press TV channel has aired a documentary about the cracking of a "CIA network".

Last month, Iran said it had dismantled a network linked to the CIA, but it is unclear whether Monday's announcement was related to the same case.

I don't have a problem with the drone downing story. The U.S has no reason to lie.

No footage? No wreckage? No official statement?

The US has a long and decorated history of lying when it comes to drones. When Iran brought down RQ-170 the US first totally denied it and called Iranians liars for a long time. Then... Iran showed the drone to the world and US changed its story, admitted Iran was not lying, and begged for it back.

You are right: it is not the right time. Because the US (well, Trump!) said they shot down the Iranian drone over the USS Boxer at 10am, but the Iranian drone footage continues from before 10am and after 10am into 11am even.

The US is desperate to show every weapon they can salvage from Yemen and being Iranian, but suddenly they down 2 Iranian drones and make no attempt to show footage or wreckage? Ha.

Brazil judge orders Petrobras to refuel Iran ships: source

Brasília (AFP) - A Supreme Court judge on Thursday ordered Brazil's state oil giant Petrobras to refuel two Iranian ships stranded off the country's coast, a source involved in the dispute and a report said.

The order came after Iran's top envoy to Brazil told Bloomberg that Tehran could suspend imports from the Latin American country if the issue was not resolved.

Petrobras has refused to provide fuel to the vessels, which have been stuck at Paranagua port in the southern state of Parana since early last month, for fear of breaching US sanctions.

Washington has imposed a raft of punitive measures on Tehran and companies with ties to the Islamic republic since President Donald Trump pulled the United States out of a landmark multinational nuclear pact last year.

The vessels had reportedly brought urea, which is used to make fertilizer, to Brazil and were to transport corn back to Iran.

Supreme Court Justice Dias Toffoli issued the refueling order behind closed doors Thursday, G1 news site reported, overturning an earlier decision.

What he actually did conforms with international norms but he will get his ass sanctioned by Trump. I hope Iran come to the rescue when he does.(:-)

I'm sure Brazil doesn't need anyone's help to uphold the dignity of its citizens and international law.
