Seems some EDA birds are being upgraded to "V" / Blk72 specs. Approx 15 of them. Deliveries to start before year end IA.

im not buying this isreali pilot story but @Blackbirdz! has some valid arguments in his discussion what bothers me the most is after indo pak skirmishes there was a very positive change in the tone of international media regarding pak.
and my suspicions came true when some travel journal rated pak number 1 for holiday destination i mean how could pak's outlook changed so quickly just 1 year before pak was not even top 10 and currents world order had placed several travel restrictions for visiting pak.
(we all know who controls western media)

Gen Asif Ghafoor played this game well. It was his idea not to claim M2K kill and give any clue abt existence of those israeli pilots!

@Blackbirdz! I don't believe a bit of your story. There are zillion pics of abhinandan but not a single of those other Indian or isreali pilots. Secondly where is the wreckage of that M2k and why don't PAF claims it? I mean we haven't seen the wreckage of Su30 which paf claims to shoot but we believe it anyways because we are Pakistanis and trust our forces. Your sources and these air headquarter chat means nothing because they themselves weren't even sure. If I remember correctly than our own PM Imran khan on national live TV said that we have shot two Migs.

lets just hope, we are able to update entire fleet smoothly, This fleet update along with Block 3 are critical to face joint threat environment of S400 and Rafale M.

The main purpose of of PAF F16s is already Air defense in broader terms meanwhile the expected block 72 can be used to counter the Rafael threat directly.

Yes that's why they are best under PAF and not PN...

As for Block 70/72...it's a beast of a fighter jet. If US allows AIM 120D(a major improvement over C7)...combined with the excellent SABR AESA radar...Rafale + meteor would be easily countered.

For S400...J15(wild weasel type) with the rumored JF17B(also being optimized as a wild weasel type)...with MAR 1(already integrated on JF17) and possibly some Chinese ARM...
...these two would provide adequate SEAD/DEAD capability.

F16 block numbers have traditionally followed this number series...
- F16s with GE engines end in 0
- F16s with PW engines end in 2

So what u r suggesting is highly unlikely.

I doubt the locals will talk to outsiders at all, I am sure after the incident they were thoroughly briefed, otherwise videos of locals or interview with different news channels would have come out...

That along with C130 crews in the US will be tell tale signs of imminent deliveries or progress.

There is a phot of then W/c Sohail aman in 2001/2 inspecting airframes to procure (26 embargoed ones)

If up-gradation has started then this means whoever the intended user is they have already decided the air frames.

You are a kashmiri so the locals might have opened up to you, try going there again and make a video if that ditch along with the local narrating the story, I am sure this will never happen.....No one is more cunning then these tv reporters, they would have extracted info from these locals. These villagers might seems simple but they are very clever and are regularly briefed by agencies as they live near the border...

Considering the capabilities it brings in, it is a non-issue!

People tend to forget that its just an engine,basic principal remained the same whether GE or PW. Secondly there are many airframes available with the GE engines so spares would not be an issue.
