Yes Sir , you are right. Current fleet is 75 i think so . which also included 18 of them block 52 and rest of them are mostly block 40 upgraded from original block 15. So after the induction of newly built block 70 ( 55 ) and upgraded block 72 ( 54 ) . Total number of F-16 will touch the figure of 184 .

Blk 70's - 55 new
Blk 72's - 30 EDA + 12 Jordanians + 12 Egyptians = 54 upgraded by TAI InshaAllah.

Then there is the possibility of PAF Blk52's being upgraded, but that is undecided at the moment.

So in summary 6 sqd for F16s

3 sqd = brand new block 70 (18x3) +1 =55
3 sqd = modified used - V standard (18x3) =54

Sir, God help those who help themselves. PAF has not bought any new jet, other than the JFT in last two decades. So they must have some savings for these jets. Possibly some Saudi financial assistance for PAF against any future threats from iran . So many theories comes into mind. And all the amount would not be paid in a single time. So its a lengthy process over almost 5/7 years.and its not a big deal for PAF to pay 500 million annually. That's a will and way situation. Besides all this we are buying 4 Frigates Type 054-AP from china, 8 new AIP Yuan class Submarines, 4 new corvette (which are almost in a frigate class weight) one new jinnah class our own design in pipeline. New shining VT-4 tanks in hundreds quantity, along with new air defence SAM system. New long range radars. New drones, new anti submarine aircrafts almost number would be 10 in long term. So when we see all these acquisition of new arms then it doesn't look strange the number of new fighter jets which 55 new and 54 refurbished.might be we already paid more or less half of the total amount. And in installments we will pay the rest of amount.
