Why do we need J-20 when Azm/TF-X will deliver? Too early to speculate—unless this is a message for the west in the times of shifting alliances.
One bird in hand, is worth two in the bush?

But TAI and PAC can have different engine in there own variant if they want to @Khafee
In theory, yes. But then the cost for the Pakistani version goes up, so does the chances of facing sanctions. (Ref Russian engine)

If in future China is ready to deliver few J20s this mean they must have produced some thing advance then that i.e may be 6th generation or even 5.5 gen jets for induction

J20C? You sure he is not confusing it with J10C ?

Hi,

No---he is not---.

In another 5-10 years---the latest J20 version flying at that time would be the fully integrated and operational advanced air rcraft of the chinese air force and as well as pakistani air force as well.

Most people just simply don't understand and can comprehend how difficult and time consuming the process of integration and pilot training it.

Training a pilot on aesa is making the pilot forget all his experience on the non aesa radar and then make them learn the aesa option and combat---..

Look back and see how long it took the Girppen to be where it is today---. It started in the mid 80's---as did the F22 following it was the F35.

These aircraft took decades to develop into the form that they are in now---ie the machine the pilots the technicians weapons the electronics----2 of these aircrat were those of the richest super power and the Gripen that of an extremely advance in engineering nation.
