Its actually $29 billion not $60 billion. It would have been $60 billion if the Naval deal was finalized. Almost all of the Saudi naval units are of French origin. I would say the Saudis will go for French naval hardware instead of the US. Having a US-made naval power means new facilities for operations and maintenance and that would be costly in my humble opinion.

That is part of the modernization program. Actually Saudi Arabia doesn't like to mention the number of forces but we have a quite large number of troops.

As fot the navy, a budget of 30 billion dollar has been allocated so far and will be spent very soon on Destroyers, Frigates and submarines.

  • Dystoryers >LCS with Aegis System
  • Frigates> FREMM most likely
  • Subs> It could be scorpion or the dolphin.

Air force we have 322 fighters but don't forget the GCC states Air forces. We basically work as a block. by 2020 we will be having a round 1000 fighter jets.
