That is part of the modernization program. Actually Saudi Arabia doesn't like to mention the number of forces but we have a quite large numbers of troops.

As fot the navy, a budget of 30 billion dollar has been allocated so far and will be spent very soon on Destroyers, Frigates and submarines.

  • Dystoryers >LCS with Aegis System
  • Frigates> FREMM most likely
  • Subs> It could be scorpion or the dolphin.

Air force we have 322 fighters but don't forget the GCC states Air forces. We basically work as a block. by 2020 we will be having a round 1000 fighter jets.
Are you sure about 1000 Fighter Jets ? @Rakan.SA

I don't know what is the real number of Saudi Army but it should be at least 300000 Soldiers, and 200000 SANG, and also need to increase Navy and Air Force.

SHOW OF STRENGTH: Special security forces display their tactical fighting skillsduring a joint exercise in Dhurma, 74 km from Riyadh, on Wednesday. (SPA)
JEDDAH: MD AL-SULAMI

Five men including an officer were killed and 12 injured by mortar shells launched from the Yemeni side of the border on Wednesday, the Civil Defense announced.
Captain of a jail patrol Cpl. Hyyan Al-Wadie was killed when a shell hit him in King Salman Street at 1:30 p.m., said a spokesman of the Civil Defense in Najran. His companion was wounded and rushed to a nearby hospital.
The other fatalities were two passengers in a civilian car, a worker in a tire shop, and a person walking in the street. Eleven other people who were injured were taken to a local hospital, the spokesman said.
The attacks followed mortar fire late on Tuesday night on Jazan that saw a man and his wife killed and their relative severely injured in the border village of Al-Bahteet.
Maj. Yahya Abdullah Al-Qahtani, spokesman of the Civil Defense in Jazan, said reaction teams received a report at 11:45 p.m. indicating a housing complex in Al-Bahteet village was hit. He confirmed that two people had been killed and a third seriously injured.
He said two other people at the site with breathing problems and minor injuries were taken to a hospital for treatment. Al-Qahtani said a committee at the headquarters of the Civil Defense in Jazan has been tasked with monitoring the situation and taking steps to protect citizens.
Meanwhile, according to reports, mortar shells and Katyusha missiles launched by the Houthis damaged several schools, homes, shopping centers, cars and a field hospital in Najran on Tuesday.
Three students from a school in Al-Mokhayam district were injured in the attacks but all are in a stable condition. One student had to undergo surgery to remove shrapnel from her back.
Despite the damage, residents said they are confident that the Saudi Army, whose morale is high, would protect them against these attacks. Many said the Houthis were “desperate” because their camps and weapon stores had been destroyed by the coalition forces.
Brig. Gen. Ali bin Mohammed Al-Omari, head of the Civil Defense in Najran, said the city was safe and no evacuation of villages and neighborhoods was necessary at this stage.
Meanwhile, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Naif, deputy premier and minister of interior, launched a joint exercise of special security forces. During the exercise in Dhurma, 74 km northwest of Riyadh, the forces displayed their tactical fighting skills. Anti-terrorism forces and emergency security forces also took part in the exercise, which reflects the Kingdom’s preparedness to counter enemy attacks.
Also on Wednesday, Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, second deputy premier and minister of defense, visited the Air Force Operation Center in Riyadh to monitor progress of airstrikes carried out by the Saudi-led alliance during the past 24 hours. He also discussed with air force commanders the operation plan for the next 24 hours and logistical support required for the campaign.

Saudi Arabia needs to increase its Armed Forces as soon as possible it should have an Air Force with at least 540 most modern Fighter Jets and a Navy with 24 t0 30 Frigates and Destroyers and at least 16 Submarines and they need to soon start inducting Submarines and Army size should be 300000 I am not talking about SANG or Para Military
@Rakan.SA @Stealth @BLACKEAGLE
There must be a balance between the sizes of your army and your economy, otherwise you'll lose both. The last thing you need is an inflated army that your economy can't support in the long run. It's true that Saudi economy is strong st the moment but it's still dependent on oil. Another thing, don't forget that in the modern time, countries focus on quality not quantity.

if you put all armed forces together meaning MOI SANG & army they are around 450-500 k so thats enough for the country at this moment and we need quality more than quantity.

Better even to have 80.000,well trained soldiers with excellent equipment than 500.000 even 1M soldiers with no skills.

exactly. the number i mention are spread through out 3 ministries. so it includes all types of ppl for example those who work behind desks, police DRs in the army etc..
the detailed numbers are not known. but what was clear from the past few years there is a lot of training on special operations and tactics.
today they sent a strike force to the border. do you know what that means military wise or different armies use different names for their units ?

It is a quick reation force, rapidly deployable, lethal force able to be decisive and successful across the spectrum of military operations. The Strike Force main missions are intended to be early entry combat and stability operations.
