Many people are led to believe that the Russian Forces are inferior, especially relating to their weapons capabilities. We should note that the Russians are very experienced in the art of war and that should count in assessing their capabilities. They have survived two major invasions, once by Napolean Bonaparte's forces and the other by Hitlers's 6th army, and because of the incidents they have vowed that they will always be in a position to stave off any possible attack.

I don't think that speaks about their skills as a competent fighting force, because when they fought against Hitler's army they were practically canon fodder. A majority of their army was completely devastated at the time. Not to mention they are still locked to practically 80's tier gear.

I thought the Russians are shifting from the S-300 to the 400/500. What is it with the S350?

S-400s have replaced some S-300 units but not very many that's why the S-350s are coming out. The S-500 was made for different reasons. S-500s were to counter ICBMs but instead they made the A-235 and now the S-500 will take out Jamming and AWAC Aircraft.

When will the S-500 be in service? Does it have an export version, if so what is the downgrade components?

S-500s will enter service by 2020 and as far as I know no new export model is out yet.

Sosna will replace Strela 10 in armed forces of Russia. Sosna can also engage precision guided missiles like cruise missiles and aircraft guided munitions along with also engaging enemy aircraft. In Future Belarus will acquire Sosna to replace their Strela 10s.

Sosna Air Defense systems
BTR-82s which they will receive 100 starting this year

Overhauls:
Russia has agreed to repair and overhaul 6 MI-24s
Overhauling 1 Il-76
Overhauling 2 L-39s and 2 SU-25s
and we completed overhauling 1 AN-26, 1 MI-26 Helicopter, and repairing engines for 8 of their MiG-29s
and we completed the unified air defense system.
