Egyptian President Abdelfattah al-Sisi on Saturday offered his condolences for the death of Saudi King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz and said in a televised speech broadcast by Egyptian state television that “humanity has lost a loyal, honest and great man.”

Sisi added that Arabs and Muslims, as well as the entire world, have lost a “wise man whose stances were noble and honorable.” He also expressed his well wishes for new king, Salman bin Abdulaziz, adding that King Salman can “continue the journey of the kingdom's path.”

The Egyptian president, accompanied by a delegation which included a number of ministers and al-Azhar clerics, arrived to Riyadh on Saturday to pay respects.

Sisi, who has now departed Riyadh for Egypt, met king Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince Muqrin bin Abdulaziz and Prince Mohammad bin Nayef who was appointed second-in-line to the throne and offered Egypt's condolences to them, adding that Egypt is confident that King Salman will resume Saudi Arabia's path towards the future in a manner that serves Arab and Muslim nations.

Saudi monarch’s death dominates social media in Jordan
by Mohammad Ghazal | Jan 24, 2015 | 22:38

AMMAN — The news of Saudi King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz’s death dominated the social media scene in Jordan over the weekend, with many Jordanians posting and commenting on the news on Twitter and Facebook.

Social media users voiced their sympathies and condolences to the Saudi people over the king’s death, which was announced in the early hours of Friday.

Facebook and Twitter users posted comments and pictures referring to the late king’s achievements and support for Arab and Muslim nations.

“He was a great leader. He was supportive of the causes of Arabs and Muslims. His achievements and development of Saudi Arabia are immense,” twitter user (@jotechie) commented over the weekend.

“Late Saudi king was a modest person. He died, was put in a simple white shroud and buried in an unmarked grave,” the twitter user said.

EssDee(@Shathvx) wrote: “Such a great leader, king and father! May his soul rest in peace.”

She tweeted a photo highlighting some of the late monarch’s achievements.

In nine years, the Saudi leader ordered the establishment of 28 universities, six medical cities, 32 public hospitals and 11 sports cities, according to the photo.

Grieving for the loss of the Saudi king, Facebook users also expressed their sympathies to the Saudi people.

“I offer my condolences to all the brotherly Saudis and send my deepest sympathies for the loss of the King who wholeheartedly loved his people. He was a generous and kind person,” Hassoun Domi said in a comment on Facebook.

Nader Maaytah, another Facebook user, said all Jordanians are saddened by the news of the Saudi king’s death.

Other Facebook users posted news items and analyses on what the Saudi leader’s death means for the region and how newly proclaimed King Salman Bin Abdulaziz will deal with major issues facing the Gulf and the Middle East.

King Salman named his half-brother Muqrin as his crown prince and heir, according to Reuters.

Again, just lie !

Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, 2002 : Arab Peace Initiative

Listen , I don't want to waste my time with you. This is inaction. If compared to how Muslims leaders are require to strive for. And Arab leaders did nothing to pressure israel. On contrary, all these leaders have ties Israel. I also am a Muslim before Palestinian. I will not judge people basd on their acts of goodwill/Hostility to my people. I judge based on right and wrong.

Whatever your views on Iran are. Doesn't negate behavior of Arab leaders who are just as bad if not worse, all of them will die together. And it was proohecised by our prophet. Muslims by name don't care though.

AMMAN — Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh on Sunday tweeted that while His Majesty King Abdullah was in Riyadh on Saturday, he got out of his car to wait for the other cars carrying the accompanying delegation to offer condolences over the death of Saudi King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz.

When His Majesty noticed that the cars of the accompanying delegation were late because of traffic congestion in the Saudi capital, he got out of the car and waited on the street for 30 minutes, Judeh wrote on his Twitter account (@NasserJudeh).

The Monarch went to Riyadh on Saturday to pay respects over the death of Saudi Arabia’s King Abdullah, who passed away on Friday.

The King, leading a high-ranking delegation, extended his condolences and sympathies to Saudi Arabia’s new king, Salman Bin Abdulaziz, the royal family and people.

In addition to Judeh, the accompanying delegation included Their Royal Highnesses Prince Feisal and Prince Rashid; Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour; Royal Court Chief Fayez Tarawneh; Chairman of the Joint Chiefs-of-Staff Gen. Mashal Al Zaben; Sharif Fawaz Zaben, the King’s adviser for tribal affairs; Interior Minister Hussein Majali; and Jordan’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Jamal Shamayleh.

Judeh’s tweet had been retweeted by more than 176 Twitter users until Sunday evening and received many comments praising the King’s gesture.

This is not strange from the King, wrote Rafat Hamadneh (@raftsalm).

“These are the values of the Hashemites,” tweeted Noor (@Lolass681Noor).

Ziad Nahar (@z_nahar1) wrote: “His Majesty always surprises us with humbleness, humanity and sharing others’ feelings.”

King Abdullah was a good man and one of the best hopes for the Saudi people, especially for women's rights. I hope that the Saudi nation continues to have leaders that truly care about them as a people as King Abdullah did, and best of luck to all of his people in other things as well.
