I've never been to the Philippines, but I would love to travel there, it sounds so beautiful and so different from Europe or America for that matter, I know some Filipinos that I hang out with I always feel like a giant around them, their cuisine is awesome and so much healthier for you than the food here, I would love to travel there someday, It must be very expensive to go there.

Definitely Philippines is one of the best and most comfortable place on the planet. The Philippines is full of hospitality and full of warm heart. Philippines have the most amazing tourism spots. I would love to hike the Chocolate Hills, Dive tubataha reef and have a sight seeing at the most beautiful volcano, The Mayon!

This is not to praise our country but just to say my own impression of what we have to offer. This list comes to mind whenever we would have friends from other countries vacationing here. Their first impulse would always be Boracay - with that sandy beaches and nightlife plus good food. But it's not all Boracay there is. Besides, Boracay is so crowded that sometimes you get annoyed by the unruly crowd of tourists.

First in our list is Batanes, a province consisting of islands. You can go there by plane, about 1 and a half hours from Manila. Hotels are quite cheap although there are expensive ones. The main offering of Batanes is the space they have. Mountains, hills, even long roads with no vehicles. Truly it is a wonderful place if you want serenity.

Another good place to add to your itinerary is Bolinao, Pangasinan. Like Batanes, it is in the northern part of the Philippines, about 8 hours drive from Manila. The beach in Batanes is one of the best beaches I had gone to. The water is crystal clear and the waves are not that threatening. What more? The people are hospitable and they have an array of good food, delicacies that are palatable even for foreigners. Check it out.

My 3rd in the list of good places in our country is Tagaytay. It's just an hour and a half drive from Manila. The cool weather is brought about by the winds coming from the mountains. Tagaytay is a city between the provinces of Batangas and Cavite. Their main selling point is the Taal Volcano inside the Taal Lake. The best spots are those resorts overlooking the volcano. Aside from the volcano, it has lots of attraction like the casino and the sky ranch which is like a theme park. Flowers and fruits abound in the roadside so tourists would have a good time and good food as well.

My 4th in the list of good places in the Philippines is Coron, Palawan. It is the northern islands of Palawan with clear blue waters of the sea. There you would find the so called balinsasayaw - the swift (birds) that produce the bird's nest which is used as main ingredient of the nido soup. That nest is made from the bird's saliva. You will find those nests in cliffs and plateaus in the rocky mountains of Coron. Their delicacy is seafood, obviously, and most of the natives are fishermen. Another product worth looking at is the cashew. They have countless of plantations there.

If you have heard of Cebu, it is a city and a province as well. They have a different dialect there although most of the people understand Filipino and English as well. Like any place in the Philippines, Cebuanos are hospitable and accommodating. Their best bet when it comes to hotel is the Waterfront Hotel that has a modern architecture with fresh water pool and a saltwater pool.

With food, their specialty is the lechon Cebu. Sorry for those who do not eat pork because Cebu's lechon is the best and admired even in Metro Manila. That is best eaten with the puso, that rice inside a woven container that they hang by the posts of the eateries. Truly, Cebu is a unique place.

The Phillipines surely has a rich history. Spanish colonization, then subsequently, American colonisation, and then Japanese expansions—in short, it's been a playground for many countries. Right now, they've a very rich culture. I like to visit the country when I get the opportunity to do so. From hindsight, it also looks naturally beautiful with jungles, and woods, and volcanoes. Seems like a good tourist spot.

I am ashamed to say that I am a Filipino and have not visited most tourist spots in my country. I plan to do so though! First on my list is Palawan! I have heard only postive remarks about Coron and El Nido. My mother and sister loved Coron so much they have been there twice already.

I've been there. It's a truly fantastic country if not for their politicians, to be honest. I didn't leave Manila, and to be honest didn't see anything special in particular other than that city, but for the time I was there, I felt truly great.

Some years ago, we also have that dream of visiting notable places in our country. And when we finally had the funds, we did it, we pursued our dream. First stop is Coron. It was truly a nature trip with the balinsasayaw commonly known as bird's nest which can be found in the rocky cliff of the island province. We also had been to Batanes just last month. It was another nature trip.
