US strikes militia bases in Iraq and Syria

The US has conducted strikes against militia bases in Iraq and Syria following the death of a US contractor.

The US confirmed the strikes targeted weapon storage facilities along with command and control locations belonging to Kataib Hezbollah.
It is considered a terrorist organisation by the US.

One contractor was killed, several US troops and Iraqi personnel were wounded in a rocket attack on a base in Kirkuk on 27 December.

Sunday's strikes in Iraq were close to the Al-Qaim district, close to the border with Syria, according to Reuters news agency.

Iraqi security and militia sources told Reuters news agency at least 18 militia fighters were killed and more than 50 wounded following three strikes in the country.

Who are Kataib Hezbollah?
Kataib Hezbollah - a Shia Muslim militia group that is backed by Iran - was founded in 2007.

The US says Kataib Hezbollah has a strong link with Iran's Quds Force and has repeatedly received aid and support from Iran that it has used to attack coalition forces.

The Trump administration has alleged that the Quds Force is "Iran's primary mechanism for cultivating and supporting" US-designated terrorist groups across the Middle East - including Lebanon's Hezbollah movement and Palestinian Islamic Jihad - by providing funding, training, weapons and equipment.

What is Iran suspected of doing in Iraq?

Iran's influence over Iraq's internal affairs has grown steadily since the US-led invasion that toppled Saddam Hussein in 2003.

It has close links to Shia politicians who are part of the ruling elite, and has backed the paramilitary Popular Mobilisation force, which is dominated by Shia militias.
Protesters in Iraq have accused Iran of complicity in Iraq's failure and corruption.

They have set fire to a number of Iranian consulate buildings in the country during the recent wave of protests.

Every player in the region is aggressively pursuing their interests and looking to get a piece of their cake after the numerous wars and breakdown of national security across the whole Middle East, yet they are trying to achieve so without getting into war or conflict. This goes to Israel, Saudi led axis, Iran led axis, etc....

In case of Iran, it and its allies definitely seek to avoid conflict because Iran leadership is just trying to advance Iranian interests for the longterm and isn't serious about 'Resistance' or advancing Islam. Iran mostly engages in rhetoric against Americans or Israeli's in order to discredit Arab regimes and justify insurgency against them. It's beginning to go wrong though as it seems all sides will be forced into conflict that will harm all their interests collectively. This includes Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Israel, Iran, Assad, USA, etc....

They are hoping to avoid conflict by still using economic tools or military tools like sanctions(US) or insurgency in Arab nations(Iran and allies). The major players don't care about the common people of the region and they are all atheists regardless of nonsensical lies they make about trying to help Muslims and advance Islam. They are anti-Islam atheists which is why they try to avoid conflict which will weaken their position in the region. This is especially true for Iranian leadership which are Persian nationalist atheists who want Iran to develop and play long term game without getting themselves directly involved.

However, God has other plans. All these major regional players are ignoring the signs of God, are ignoring the end times signs and ignoring the fact that God will punish the sons of Adam because of their current wicked state. They are in a dream state where they are looking ahead decades and planning decades ahead to continue ignoring God and living as if they decide the fate of the Universe and that they will chase wealth/power/indecency/enjoyement without anything interrupting them.

They all they think they are clever and pushed God out of society. May the Great Lord show us his judgement and power in these wicked followers of Satan and hit them into each other for mutual destruction.

You wicked human beings are ignoring God, the ultimate truth, the Creator who is real and is ever living and never sleeps and is watching us right now and all the time. You lied to the people and told them God isn't real and you object to him and decide to ignore him and his commandments and you led us to this miserable state in society where crooks, bad people, serial sinners, and people who encourage sexual degeneracy. God told the truth and he knows what is best for us, which is to worship him and ask his help against the evil of our selves.

And we see the truth of God's warnings and messages to humanity being played out today.

I have tons of popcorn ready for this upcoming slaughter and mutual destruction of the wicked and evil people that is going to take place soon. And afterwards we believers will exploit the vacuum to establish God's commandments and free ourselves from sick atheists who think they are God and use his revelations as a tool to attain their wealth/power/sexual degeneracy.

Son of Adam need to end their stubbornness, every time they are reminded that they need to repent to their Lord they ignore and double down on their stubbornness to continue living as if there is no judgement or afterlife and they continue living in a state of misguidance where they just chase enjoyement/fun/wealth/sex. And of course with such ideology and lifestyle no one cares about another and there is no real justice or good values. Only people chasing interests and whoever dies everything moves on.

How much more violence and signs do you guys need? Return to Islam with sincere intentions and heart, not back to your failed projects which you guys seem so attached to.

This situation dates back several months when there were Israeli strikes in Iraq and retaliation by these Iraqi militias by firing mostly harmless rockets near Iraqi/US military bases or in the Green Zone. With the protests, the Iraqi militias, Iran and Iraqi gov't began getting more worried and wanted to cement their rule and crush the demonstrations. It hasn't worked well for them and over the past month Iraqi gov't elements have worked with these militias to allow them to freely operate to fire at Iraqi/Coalition bases. The most recently attacks killed two Iraqi's, injured few more Iraqi soldiers, injured American soldiers and killed one US contractor.

Now the US has done these strikes which inflicted lots of casualties without giving prior warning to Iraqi gov't.

Iraqi militias/Iran/Iraqi gov't were mostly using light fire with these rockets just to serve as warnings that they want to remain in power in Iraq. They did not expect US to conduct such heavy strikes. So now they are going to either stick to try cementing their rule by cracking down on Iraqi protestors and maybe do some protests of their own where they will shame the protestors and demonize them as collaborators with the US or if they are prepared for regional war which may drag Saudi/Israel/Iran into it, they may actually try to respond militarily.

US is confident in its ability to strike Iraqi militias and maybe even Iran if it becomes more tense. However, US troops in Iraq and US allies in the Gulf are in a complex situation. US troops should be withdrawn from Iraq in the event of military escalation as it is in the middle of protests/chaos and there is nothing to gain by being there. US allies such as Saudi Arabia/Bahrain/UAE most likely will face brunt of Iranian response in the event of a war and they aren't well prepared for it from a military standpoint. They have small populations and not as prepared for Iranian semi asymmetric tactics.

It's been hours since the attack and no response yet. Which just proves again these militias just want power in Iraq and to help advance their and Iran's interests. All their rhetoric about 'resisting' US and Israel is just a propaganda ploy to justify their existence and domination of Iraq by force(against the local populace).

Same with Iran, it uses that rhetoric to demonize and discredit states in the region and to justify it's regional quest for hegemony.

They're atheists so they don't care about lying in people's face and lying about their intentions. If they were Muslims they wouldn't mislead people or lie intentionally pretending to 'resist' the US when they are only attacking local people and trying to achieve Persian hegemony.

Btw other regional states aren't any different. They are out there for their interests and have no shame using God's Revelations to their advantage or also playing up some rhetoric against Israel or US to try to appear as populist leaders among Muslims. None of them can be considered Islamic rulers. Period.

An Islamic ruler would be honest and straightforward about his intentions and have no attachment to nationalism or a specific ethnic group and their history.

I already see the coward Iran worshipping crowd on other forums showing their true intentions by spinning this around as US trying to drag Iraq pro Iran populace and Iran into war to strip power away from them and that they shouldn't respond and instead keep their power.

Their whole 'resisitance' mantra is a farce. They show again and again they only care about their Persian empire.

The Iran worshipping crowds intention is Persian empire.

The Arab dictator worshipping crowds wants enjoyment

The Turkish worshipping crowd want Turkish empire

The Israel worshipping crowd want end of Palestinians and prevention of an Islamic Caliphate

The ISIS worshipping crowd wants to affect the Mahdis advent

...
...

All of them tell you otherwise but God is well aware of their intentions. They are all despicable people who don't fear their Lord and going with their own agenda as opposed to the Revelations God brought down on humanity.

This is why God will cause them to mutually destroy each other and pave the way for the Caliphate.

No sane Iraqi would want the PMU to respond, as the American troops are in Iraqi bases which for over 70% Iraqi army troops, controlled and guarded by Iraqi army troops. A PMU attack would result in clashes with the army and would basically be the US-Iran proxy war in Iraq unleashing. That's not our war, we prefer it remains on the political level rather than an actual battle on the streets.

If some group decides to respond, the mainline and majority of the PMU won't join such efforts, extremists will be dealt with. We're not responsible for Iran's wars and Iraq isn't part of the axis of resistance. You write as if we are, the state officially isn't allied to Iran and the army isn't either.

You go far off course with your opinions

I have to remind the people what circumstances we are facing.

Iraqi people may not want to be involved but they are not in control. Iraqi gov't has good ties with Iran and Iran is trying to preserve pro-Iran gov't elements. Iraqi people fate is tied in directly with rest of peoples fate in the region. In the Arab Spring, people from each country went out to demonstrate. They all face the same issues ranging from corruption to politically driven arrests, etc.... There are certainly some Iraqi's who see things from Iraqi POV like every other nationality is in the region and my posts are to remind these nationalities including those from mine that nationalism is of no good to them and they need to repent from their ways and seek God's guidance. Attachment to nation states is replacing attachment to God and Islam and is one of the reasons we are in such a situation today.

As for the US strikes, if there is a strike back US will target specific parties and try to target Iran's assets in Syria which they already did. So I don't see you Iraqi's getting into a war, civil or regional, but that there is a larger picture to these events which will be translated into reality in Syria/Gulf region/Iran and maybe Israel too.

But, don't you think it's funny that Iran keeps backing down? It tells you about their intentions which I described in my posts that you consider 'going off course'. Iran opposes and incites opposition to Gulf states or other political movements in the region on basis of them not standing up to Israel or US influence. It wants to overthrow some governments or end some political movements because they're preventing resistance against Israel or the US. But they never engage in skirmishes with Israel or the US. They have an opportunity to now, even through their proxies.

The reason I bring this up is because you can't justify wrongdoing against others on basis of them not opposing Israel/the US when you(Iran axis) are no more active than they are against them. If you don't seek to engage with the US or Israel then don't feed those notions to domestic population as a way to establish a hegemony in the region. In the end they just back down and give a different excuse every time.

They claim to be at the forefront of resisting the US and Israel but when push comes to shove they say things like Iran is playing the long game or some other excuse. Iran is indeed playing the long game for Iranian hegemony, and not out of intent to 'resist US and Israel'. If they are honest about their intentions then you can say they are acting out of their interests and it makes no sense for them to fight wars. In the time being, they still use it as an crusade against other Arab states to justify their activity against them.

I don't like hypocritical people who work to deceive otherwise uninformed domestic populaces, which includes all those I listed in the previous posts.
