what cards ? is SD10 some alientic BVR missile ? everybody knows we have them. There is nothing special in that missile, its just normal missile like others. Atleast one kill by Jeff would had raised its profile enormously. Infact our confidence on Chinese arms would had gone further up.

Meteor due to its Ramjet propulsion system is heavy and takes a few seconds to accelerate to max speed.
On the other hand PL15 burns its solid propellant and keeps getting lighter as fuel is burned.

Also the dual pulse comes into play. This is also supposedly the same tech being used in the latest AMRAAMs. The Americans avoided going for an air breathing AAM so far because dual pulse engines gave them similar range, simplicity and better parameters (such as fast initial thrust, which can be critical in BVR).
