What do you think an ideal amount of money for a countries military is?

I think it's a tricky question to give an exact figure to. Here in the UK the armed forces have been dealt cut back after cut back to the point where people are beginning to wonder if we could even defend ourselves from any attack, nevermind actually go into a conflict as the aggressor ourselves.
