I suspect Pak is planning a surprise for India so no direct announcements even for the VT-4 which have been acknowledged by so many. "appear weak when you are strong" - Sun Tzu

Right...it may be possible to hide a few things...and it would be smart too...but I don't think Indian intelligence agencies are that incompetent. I wouldn't underestimate their intelligence gathering...surely they will know of all these Chinese jets Pak is receiving and therefore it wouldn't come to them as a surprise. The capabilities would be a surprise...but not the fact that those jets were received.

Pak definitely is not fooling their intelligence agency. Pak is fooling their democraZy. Meaning, if there is an announcement of rapid armament, then India will go on their frenzy. A tit for tat. Political pressure will be created, allowing their government to make big purchases during COVID 19.

Keeping things relatively hushed up allows the Indian intelligence community to know, but doesn't allow the political huffing and puffing.

IMO it would be better to create frenzy and send them on an expensive shopping trip. It would be a disaster for the Modi regime politically. COVID19 has wreaked havoc on Indian economy...to spend billions more will squeeze them further...billions that they could spend on ppl would instead have to be diverted. Increasing unemployment, shrinking economy, and the relevant problems that will follow will increase unrest and anger in their public.

If Pakistan keeps silence over these acquisitions for a long period & only announces/shows them in the time of conflict, then they will have less/no time to build up their capability besides having psychological effects on their (leadership/media/public) minds

If we actually lure India into buying more weapons then it simply kills the point of our procurement as it will further tilt the balance in India's favor which we haven't fully leveled yet despite the new platforms being discussed. So we spend money and get no real advantage with a sagnificantly weaker economy.

U r looking at it from an India/Pak perspective still...due to recent events the calculus has changed for a bit. Now India is forced to think about it as China/Pak front...rather than Pak being their main focus.

Before it used to be the case that India enjoyed numerical superiority against Pak(which is still the case against Pak singularly)...and Pak was forced in to a place where Pak would leave no stone unturned to try and keep a balance...
...in contrast we have an example of Bangladesh that could focus all attention on its economy(and we see the result of their economic improvement)...this was a luxury Pak could not afford. So Pak had to spend billions on defense...and India could simply up the ante and waste Pak's resources(that could have been used to improve the economy) in an arms race.

Now with China in the picture...and a synergy between Pak/China military...together they have tilted the scales against Indian numerical superiority. Against China/Pak combined...India does not have numerical superiority. It was in this regard I made my statement. The COVID19 effect on Indian economy is a plus. In this case it is India that will have to waste billions to try and reach some parity with two fronts in mind... theoretically this arms race(against a combined Pak/China threat) should hinder their economic improvement...
...though I admit that this only applies when two fronts are hot and tensions are high. If it becomes singularly India/Pak scenario again...then it will be the same as before(as described in the second paragraph above).

So Pakistan is expecting some kind of misadventure from India
They sent 4 packages consisting of many mirages,su-30 on Feb 26 but only one package violated our airspace and dropped spice 2000. Their mindset is based on numerical superiority so yes, they can try again. We have seen lots of activities near runn of kutch. Something can happen. Nothing will happen. It depends on indian mindset. Do they still want aerial fight? Yes. They aren't ready to forget feb27 humiliation.
