That's not how states function in this day n age.... There's a method to madness as they say n unless situation goes ballistic n fatal, Pakistan will never take such a drastic step (meaning the decision making powers that be).

I was thinking the same. But refueling pod usually have a small prop infront which is used to power all the equipment such as pump and hose/drogue reel retractor. Maybe this one is powered from the aircraft.

This is what got me confused as well, the first thought that came to mind was an aircraft carrier killer
