Sir i am just asking the shifting of GHQ from Rawalpindi to DG khan, which is more secure than the current GHQ who is in 100 KM range of LOC. Not the full capital city. I know its not feasible at this moment. But if war start can we defend all our top installations which are with in 150 km range of LOC.
I mean Kamra , POF, HIT, PMA , Air academy, KRL, Nescom, Margalla Electronics, Nilore, Millitary Engineering college, NAtional Defence University, GIK institute, NAtional command authority,NUST any many more installation.
Do we ready to sacrifice all these installations.
Your theory about range would have stood in 1960's, with modern missiles, SOM and planes nothing is out of range these days. No more talk of capital in this thread anymore please, kindly open a new thread @Khafee can you please clean this thread.

I am just voiceing my views here which may go against the grain of thought.
Don't be concerned about that, but remember that doing so requires some convincing.

The plane maybe different from software and weapons point of view but aerodynamics cannot be changed so basic responses of a platform remain the same. The question I am seeking answers to and listed in the post above are not answered so far.
Aerodynamics play very little role in determine tactics against a platform. The days of WVR dogfights are long gone.

There's a whole of difference between the tactics India would employ against or F16s in the 90s v/s the same F16s today - simply because they now have BVR capability. Their 90s F16 playbook goes out of the window.

Possible but unlikely as PLAAF will never allow PAF pilots to fly their planes. Secondly platform integration(I remain an enthusiast rather than a Professional) would require much more than merely being able to fly the platform. Tactics for and against the platform, getting used to the strengths and weaknesses and developing strategies to best use platform are all issues which need considering. I would not have issues with J10 being integrated due to lack of familiarity of IAF, but IAF knows each nut and bolt of the SU srries and J15 cannot be much different. Lastly what advantege does it give us over IAF and their Rafale acquisition? Is AESA and the long range missile(name has escaped me???PL15) enough when you have a big arse plane visible from ahuge distance.
Lastly an induction for 3 decades at the cusp of change of generation also puzzles me. As I said I have questions which my brain cannot answer. It is OK to say we are inducting XY or Z but for what purpose and to what advantage is what I want to know.
A

I agree with your point on integration, but one should remember that these decisions are not taken all of a sudden, I am certain that these talks on acquiring a new Chinese platform were taking place in the power corridors for years. Once decision is being made integration, maintenance and logistics are also thought out. Just like we are having a debate over here I am sure that PAF would also have indulged in a extensive debate on the merits and demerits of J-15.

The important point is what was the requirement? The requirement was for a heavy dual engine platform which could be used for naval and other attacks. Now what are the viable options. If we look around they were not much to be honest. J15 fulfills are requirement.

Yes India is familiar with the nuts an bolts of the SU series but then so is China so did this stop India to place further orders for the Su-30. So I do not buy this viewpoint that since our enemy has a similar aircraft we should not buy it. Remember someone made a point that Pakistan was able to acquire SU-30 blueprints from HAL, does that make 200+ IAF SU's obsolete. This era is more about network warfare rather then individual brilliance.

I do not see great numbers of the Chinese Platform in PAF inventory, they would work only work and specialist while J-17 will remain the workhorse. The only issue I have with the SU series is that they are maintenance intensive.
