It all depends on Revolutionary Guards now until they are with status quo its quite difficult to change the power structure
Looks like the perfect storm.

I am actually quite disturbed. The barbarian Mullahs in power, will not give up without bloodshed.
The Army is weak, in comparison to the RG.
The protests, as of now does not have enough momentum to grind life to a halt.
So either things will fizzle out with the Govt crackdown, or the people will take to the streets, which does not seem to be happening.
Serious question. Not taking an Arab dig here ...
Do you honestly believe the earlier uprising that was crushed, and now this one, is simply against the "barbarian mullas" ?
Is it just political and economic?
Or is there something else that the Muslim world does not want to admit to?
Cheers, Doc
You can just briefly go through this thread, and you will see a persistent undertone - Economy.
When your hard earned money i.e. taxes, is being wasted overseas, while inflation at home increases = discontent.
THIS particular series of protests started from Mashhad, because of the prices of eggs. The Govt had earlier provided subsidies, but that did not help. Just so that you can understand, the prices of eggs is about 10% cheaper in the UAE than Iran,
Keeping in mind, zero subsidies and the fact that we import some of our eggs.
Secondly, If the Wilayat Al Faqih Mullahs, have so much widespread support, then why have they put media bans on the opposition, Mullah Shirazi in particular, you can find his details in this thread as well.
Target fixated as usual. What is 10% higher cost of eggs man?
Do you know the price cycles India and Pakistan go through EVERY year for staples like onions and tomatoes?
You're skimming the surface. Look deeper. And further back.
Cheers, Doc
You mean to say Persian nationalist are driving the protest ?to invoke the legacy ?What is 10% higher cost of eggs man?

It's been 1300 years in the making.
And no one in the Middle East is going to be safe ....
